Introducing myself.
by Makaveli ini have contributed a few posts over the last 24 hours, and keeping with the apparent tradition i guess i should introduce myself.
i am an ex-dubite, after twenty years slaving for the organization.
i decided to call it quits roughly only one year ago this month, after a spur of the moment decision never to go again.

"Why Are Jehovah's Witnesses So Sure That They Have The Right Religion?"
by minimus inthat question is raised on page 709 in the "proclaimers" book.
notice the answer the book gives.

If your parents left everything to Watchtower, what could you legally do ?
by run dont walk in.
i'm sure this must happen, brother faithful and sister subjection, spend their whole life in jw land, have an average/good living, have three kids, both pass on, leave it all (or most) to the watchtower, would you have a case or any legal grounds in getting your money back.. definitely a case for johnny cochrane.. i'm a little worried my parents might do something this stupid.. any experiences or ideas .................

am I trying to get myself disfellowshipped?
by acsot inmaybe, but i figure 1/11th of $30 million is worth it!.
i just bought (along with a few others from work) my first lottery ticket.
the only problem is, if we win, our pics and names get published, and if a dub sees it, then it's curtains for yours truly.. i'm maybe the only person in this area's lottery history who is ambivalent about winning $2.72 million.. but i think i could adjust!

Did the WT rob you of your Inheritence??
by Poztate inover the years many ways have been suggested by the wt as to giving.one primary way was to name the wt in your inheritance.my father had a very simple will.one third of all he had went to me,one third went to my sister and one third went to the wt.. my father was a great believer in the generation of 1914 not passing away doctrine before the big "a" many times he would urge me to come back before it was too late.he was absolutely certain the end would have to come very soon.after all this was jehovah's promise not just the thoughts of the org.. then came the doctrinal change of 1995?
the goal posts in his life had suddenly been moved.this took all the fire out of a very old and unsure man.he died less than a year later.. the big change...when his will was opened and read it was even simpler.one half went to me and one half went to my sister.i guess at the end he finally saw "new light".
did the wt try to rob you and did they succeed??

Were You Ever Put On Any "Restrictions" While You Were A Witness?
by minimus inthe elders and the watchtower society are big fans of using "restrictions".
anytime a person has judicial action taken against them, they are imposed with "automatic restrictions".
even if a body of elders felt that a person was too fragile to have any restriction placed upon them, they were required by the society to "restrict" them in something.......were you ever put on restrictions?
