It irritates me when I see Christ being taken out of Christmas. That is not limited to only non-Christians--even Christians have adjusted to the commercialism of the holiday season.

Obviously, not all of it is bad--in fact the holiday season provides the opportunity for families to reunite and also provides a pleasant break from our routines.

Geez you guys ... calm down. If you are all into that ... I thought the "X" in Xmas would symbolize the "cross". If so, then Christ isn't really gone from it.

(Disclaimer: Not sure why I responded to this ....)

I prefer to call it xmas, because I only like the profane parts of that particular holiday. I don't think jc ever existed as a person, and I know he doesn't exist up there.

    Well it means cross OUT!!

An X is an x ----cross out

    A + is a cross there is a difference.

The only thing I celebrate at that time of year is the fact that I get the week off between Xmas Christmas and New Years. It's an opportunity for me to fill my face more than usual and slop around the house a lot.

Sorry Hib......When I was a kid and then as an adult and we celebrated when our kids were small, Jesus really had nothing to do with it. It was all Santa, love ,family, just the whole spirit of it all.

    Because we're Sun worshipping pagans?

Or because Macy's has a great marketing program?

Or because I like red and green?

    Take your pick...

Chris: I prefer to call it xmas, because I only like the profane parts of that particular holiday. I don't think jc ever existed as a person, and I know he doesn't exist up there. Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus Christ. So if you don't believe in Jesus Christ why would you celebrate it? Because of the gifts and eats? HIBIE
