Well the New System was existing only in the mind of the WT, so it was never real. Because the lie it was told too many times we believe it.

There is life after death, and nothing dies. We come and we go, and the journey it was always like that. I consider my staying here on earth as an opportunity to clean my soul and set things right as I will continue to the journey to find God

Hello all.May I just say that after reading everyone's comments, you are not such a bunch of unbelievers at all!! In fact, if you would try to look at it this way, it was NOT Jehovahs Witnesses who made up the idea of a new world at all. It was in fact JEHOVAH GOD himself, via most all of His scribes, writers, prophets, and his own Son Jesus Christ.

So if anyone is to be 'wrong' about a new system, it is the entire Bible itself and the Creator himself, and if you think about it, it is a big call to tell God he doesn't know what he is doing, in fact telling God he doesn't exist, as some have done on this forum. If JW's have been wrong, it has been their keenness to see God's will done,, sorry I should not have said 'if'....the WT Society has been wrong in its dates understanding, But IF there is to be a 'new system', and IF Jehovah God will make it happen, and IF it is to be a period when mankind is 'ruining the earth' to such an extent that 'no flesh would be saved'.......IF such is true, surely we all should keep faith in Jehovah God and His Word....'put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man'.....true?

It would be nice if nobody called me horrible words, as horrible words come from horrible minds...

    just my thoughts.

    Cheers to all,

    Geoff.gdt

No, nobody will do that. We try hard to keep the personal attacks to a minimum on this board. It doesn't always work out, but we try.

I don't know gdt, maybe you're right. God hasn't spoken to me, so I cannot say definitively what he will, or will not, do. Whatever he decides, I choose to believe it will be fair and loving. If I am included in those plans or not, I'll let him decide. Meantime, I'm trying to live this life the best way I know how, and for me that includes leaving behind a high control religious sect that has hurt a great many people. I find that incompatible with the God of the Bible.

    But that's just me.

I never really believed in a New System? of things. Honestly. I remember clearly all the talks all the publications, but I always just dealt with the fact that either it would never happen or that I would not "prove worthy" and die. I just accepted the fact that I was already dead, but then once I realized that, all of a sudden living isn't such a burden, that I could actually enjoy life and live for today. I still think this way.

I Totally agree, we will live life with the highest morals we can (the ones our coscience tells us, not the WT for they have been wrong all the time) and if God really loves us the way Jesus said, then we can expect the best

By the way the Jehovah of the old testament is the most spiteful/angry/blood thirsty God we can imagine. If this is the real one that is giving us life, what can we really expect?

    ConfusedJW,

This is the very reason why I now live my life in the most positive of ways. I'm not certain what's in store for the future, therefore, I'm filling my present life with pleasant people and experiences; I'm working out, furthering my college education, doing volunteer work, traveling and enjoying life as much as possible.

Welllllll, there you have it...MAN still wrote the bible, NOT God. It is bound to be tainted, contain germs, contain biases and be manipulated. I may believe, but there is no need to take the whole bible at absolute face value and place my entire trust in something that is STILL man-made. I follow it's principles and values, that coincide with my inner voice. History has taught us that Man makes toooooooo many laws and loves to rule over each other. The bible is the best lesson of all books in this. Yet the JW's take it literally. To me, the bible and God can be seperated.

If you ever read the book 'Tuck Everlasting' or have seen the movie...the best line that sums it all up...."Don't be afraid of death..., be afraid of the unlived life".

Enjoy your life, and live it....

    Hi Geoff.gdt,

Jesus is the one who told us that we would be with him in paradise. What that paradise means is not clear in the Greek scriptures. Do some digging outside the WTS publications and really look at what Jesus was saying. When paradise is spoken about in the Hebrew scriptures bible scholars say that the writters were saying God was promising paradise conditions for the Israelites under his direction. There was no freedom from death in those promises. It was promises of a peaceful life. Anyway look it up and read it from the bible itself, preferably other translations than the NWT bible.

Okay - I've read all the responses and this is what I'm going to do short term:

I'm putting in a Dishwasher this weekend. Evenings are too short with the family to waste on dishes.

We are going to take a vacation this winter even though it will tap us out. We had such a perfect one years ago going to St. John's - maybe we'll go there again. But we often talk about how fun and perfect that was.

But I don't want to be 60 and think "Why didn't we take another real vacation while the kids were with us?"

( This is hard as I'm the sort that starts planning for winter in August, showing my son how to do and fix everything around the house for "when I'm not around" and likes to have money in the bank to cover anything that might happen. Pump going or roof leaking or car breaking. )
