Sorry to hear about this, LT... I can completely understand your rage and the intense emotions your sister is feeling.
Little Toe, maybe they can invite some "undesireables" that had to be scratched for their parents' sake!

I'm very very glad to see you stepping up to the plate on your sister's behalf. You are walking the walk and not just talking the talk about what it means to be a real man and a bonafide Christian. Shame on your parents and the JWs for the turmoil they are causing to your family.
No truer words have been spoken: "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves."

We've experienced similar things like this (always of course, done at the last minute) and it really shows a lack of courtesy and consideration.
Of course, the people doing it think they are doing things for the right reasno which makes it even harder ... and the WT has the gaul to say they don't interfere with people's family life?! Sheesh ...
Hope it works out bud. I know it may not, but I hope it does.
I'm sorry to hear that your parents opted to take the "chicken-sh*t" way out, (((LT)))....but I'm happy for your sister....that she's gonna be escorted down the aisle by her brother who loves her more than he loves pleasing faux friends for empty reasons......a far better way to begin her new life, married to the one she loves...

Ross, I want to PM you something but I am having problems PMing from home using Mozilla or Opera browsers.
Can I have your email address so I can send you something?
Thanks
Steve
It's sad that your brother didn't use his own conscience/mind. Instead he contacted his conscience which lives at the wt headquarters. Of course, that gave your spineless parents little choice but to also follow the same conscience. It's still a copout, though. Sorry for your sister

Thanks guys - I'm boiling so much that I can't see straight. I'm guessing my blood pressure is probably above normal parameters.
I threw "loss of natural affection" around a few times. It caused a few pauses, but nothing more. It seems their mind is made up. Phrases like "I'm disgusted" and "it's not just sad, dad, it's sick" came out a few times, too.
Whilst I still love them, I've lost a lot of respect for them, this day.
LT, I'm sorry to hear it. I feel for you and your sister. When we got married, even though my wife wasn't baptized, her parents chose not to come to our wedding. They also forbid her niece and nephew from coming (ages 14 and 16) The wedding was held at my parents' house - not even in a church! Once we had kids though, they were more than happy to have them around. Selfish, hypocrical sons of bytches.
It does hurt even more when something so insentive happens to someone we love. I hope it works out well for your sister.
