Terrible tragedy. Just when people's nerves are frayed.

Such a very sad and tragic event.

The speculation and gossip on here is unfortunate.

The survivors say he left JWs 18 months ago...but his announcement was only made this week...after his book went on sale in December? Is this another case of Watchtower giving marching orders to Circuit overseers to force local elders to hound woke faders for disfellowshipping for possible "apostasy"...in this case backfiring terribly? (Two local Elders showed up at our door WITH a Circuit Overseer multiple times after we had faded for over TWO years.(..couldn't have an ex-Elder ex-Bethelite roaming around scot-free possibly talking to any local JWs )

I heard a short news item on NPR a few minutes ago...no details. So sad...but it's a wonder we don't hear more such things...remember the murder/suicide/bombing on Xmas...The Bible says, by their fruits you will know them...look as JW fruitage...They will tell you it is love among yourselves, but the hate has driven some to horrid crimes.

36 publisher's were present in the hall with another 25 via zoom.

RaymondFrantz It was the police chief that said they thought the man suffered from a mental illness. Just reading excepts from his book and website makes that fairly plain, I think.

His literary output, even in his business website full of empty business jargon, is pretty bonkers.

Regrettably and understandably, the Borg may realize more of these tragic and scary events with such harmful policies leading to mental illness.

The problem is that the JWs both attract people with mental health problems and then add to their burden.

The guy sounds like a grade A nutcase. He thought he was a consultant worth €250,000 per day. That right there is a delusional crazy person. The fact that he had disagreements with his employer, and the JWs, shows that he was most likely a disagreeable idiot.

The police were warned, but unfortunately the police did nothing, and now a baby will never be born and multiple people have lost loved ones. All innocents caught up in someone else's inability to sort out their own shit.

This is why unbalanced outlooks that foster resentment and retaliation rather than inward reflection and learning are dangerous and should be discouraged. It may be 1 in a million who end up acting on things, but the consequences are horrendous.
