You are right though it is rather counter productive to discuss how revenue is needed in general with those that feel it should all be free.

if the copyright holder was to go ahead and take action against cedars do you think he would take it lying down. no way all hell would break loose and Debra's name would be thoroughly tarnished till kingdom come.
Couple of points:

Yes, I have received threats off Lloyd Evans that he would write articles about me to "ruin my reputation" whatever that means (even over things other people had said about him, and really trivial stuff). He was then all over my linked-in profile and my wife's - creepy fucker. I think he's a sociopath - if you're applauding him then you get the happy smiley Cedars, but if you disagree with him then you see a completely different personality and what he says in public and private are often very, very different.
As for the book being edited - I think most people expect a book to be "as it was written". A translation should be as accurate as possible which precludes automated software. Other than corrections for typos a new edition should be as the author wrote it. If there is new information or updates then it should be added as an addendum with the author of that part identified.

@simon see my post above regarding editing. I was referring to my own experience. I'm not saying that will happen here just to be clear. I agree completely as to any timeline corrections or things of that nature be clearly disclosed if that even happens.

I still don't understand why they don't publish the ebook version now. Go ahead and charge for it. Why delay the English publication?
Wouldn't the proceeds from the legitimate sale of the book go a long way towards defraying the costs of translation?

jookbeard you have been reading too many conspiracy books. For me there is an ethical issue here Also the copyright holder has been ill, secondly she was close friend of ray and cynthia . plus I benefited greatly from reading Ray's books - they are priceless although I wouldn't say they saved my life.
I would hate to see cedars become a spokesperson for Ray - that would be an absolute tragedy
