The Great Crowd!

Naos was used in John 2 20 to describe the whole temple not just the inner part.

20 The Jews then said: “This temple was built in 46 years, and will you raise it up in three days?” 21

Herod’s greatest work, however, was the reconstruction of the temple and its building complex. Beginning in his 18th year (Jewish Antiquities, XV, 380 [xi, 1]), the holy house itself was completed in a year and a half, but the work on the adjoining buildings and courtyards went on long after his death. (Joh 2:20)

    John 2:19

Jesus replied to them: “Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Jesus was speaking using illustrative language - by temple he was talking about himself and his resurrection after three days. Naos would be the correct word to use, not the word for the outer courtyards heiron.

The Jews didn't get what he was saying.

    Which feels familiar.

Yes they didn't understand what he was saying. But the word naos is still used talking about an actual temple that took 46 years to build.

    It's very simple.

Where are these angels? Heaven or earth?

7:11 All the angels were standing around the throne and the elder and the four living creatures, and they fell facedown before the throne and worshipped God

So where are the great crowd then?

7:15 - That is why they are before the throne of God, and they are rendering him sacred service day and night in his temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread his tent over them

The angels are before the throne. So that means they are in...?

The great crowd are before the throne - in his temple (naos). So that means they are...?

The sanctuary itself took 18 months to build, but the courtyards, and so forth, were under construction for eight years. When certain Jews approached Jesus Christ in 30 C.E., saying, “This temple was built in forty-six years” (Joh 2:20), these Jews were apparently talking about the work that continued on the complex of courts and buildings up until then.

I just showed you naos can refer to anywhere in the temple. The earth courtyards are part of it.

    No you haven't.

    You're ignoring herion!

How does that fit with your claim?

Look at where Jesus was standing when he said all this!

    John 2:14

And if that isn't clear read these two below:

    John 2:14

    John 2:!5

    Jesus was standing in herion!

You'd find it more rewarding and less painful to slam your head into a brick wall.

16 They will hunger no more nor thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat down on them nor any scorching heat,+ 17 because the Lamb,+ who is in the midst* of the throne, will shepherd them+ and will guide them to springs* of waters of life.+ And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes.”+

6 And I saw standing in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures and in the midst of the elders a lamb that seemed to have been slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, and the eyes mean the seven spirits of God that have been sent out into the whole earth.
