Thank you done4good! You nailed it on addiction and the issues involved

Lets review Marijuana is not addictive.

Pot is not highly addictive as some other known drugs but can develop into discrepancy issues.

It can be abused just like alcohol to the detriment of the user though.

Okay. There is no comparison. This is 'apples and oranges'. No one has EVER died from using pot. It is not addictive, not "highly addictive" or "somewhat addictive" - this is an either/or - it can't be a 'little bit addictive', just as you cannot be a 'little bit pregnant'. You do not have black outs from using mj. It does not rot your liver and kill brain cells. AND ETC.

Pot is not for adolescents, just like a lot of things. That's why we have laws against under-age gambling, drinking and driving, to name a few activities that are not appropriate for undeveloped bodies and minds to participate in. That's why most pharmaceuticals should not be prescribed for children - they are intended for adults.

People with unresolved emotional issues abuse pot. Just like they abuse video games, porn, food, sex, work and a plethora of other things that are not addictive. These 'addictions' are methods of self-medication that people use when they fail to address the emotional problems - instead, they bury the problems by over-indulging in the thing that makes them 'feel good.'

    Facts, people, FACTS.

haha, I get a bit frustrated with the lack of reality in these threads.

If you smoke marijuana with a water bong, it takes away some of the ''sting'' on the inhale with the same intoxicating effect.

I think that smoking marijuana has a similar effect of having a few drinks really fast without the hangover effect next morning. Actually I found that smoking a cigarette has a similar effect to smoking a joint. But that leaves a terrible taste in your mouth, never cared for smoking either a joint or cigarette. I just prefer a good booze buzz,LOL!!

You need to smoke better weed if you feel it is similar to tabacco. Vastly different effects for me.

    Totally agree Talesin

It can be illusionary mental crutch as other chemical substances can be.

The point I was simply making was regarding to chemical addiction in comparison to other illicit drugs. Cocaine or heroin . most people who try it eventually don't after a few times out of not really liking its psychotic effects.
