two that come to my mind,

the first one is an elder in a loveless marriage, he stands to inherit a large sum of money, the PI hired to look into his background discovered that the two are not legally married. Don't have an udate since we left about a year ago.

the second one is a mother of two, married to a great guy. She thought the grass or hay was better on the other side, ripped the family apart, got a divorce, the boy friend dumped her after she wanted a commitment from him. The woman married to the elder in the above paragraph has been after the guy in paragraph two. sometimes I think the WTS could have their own soap opera titled:

Ex-husband MS at the time. Was busted by the police for being a peeping tom. Charges pressed. Court hearing recommended counseling. Which he lasted one session.

There were no consequences given from the Elders. He told me that he told them. The response "was you know how men are?" And supposedly excused his behavior. I have a sense the ex was not telling the truth.

Shortly after we moved. Thats the pattern when situations get hot. Move out of Dodge!!!!

The guy has been running ever since 1971!!!!!!

    Nightmare from HELL!!!!!!

Gossip is idle personal talk; groundless rumor. Slander is defamation, generally malicious, whether oral or written.

Proverbs 15:2: " The tongue of wise ones does good with knowledge, but the mouth of the stupid ones bubbles forth with foolishness."

Proverbs 13:5: " A false word is what the righteous hates, but the wicked ones act shamefully and cause disgrace for themselves"

1 Timothy 5:13: " At the same time they also learn to be unoccupied, gadding about to the houses; yes, not only unoccupied, but also gossipers and meddlers in other people’s affairs, talking of things they ought not. "

2 Thes. 3:11: " For we hear certain ones are walking disorderly among YOU, not working at all but meddling with what does not concern them. "

Proverbs 6:16-19: " There are six things that Jehovah does hate; yes, seven are things detestable to his soul: lofty eyes, a false tongue, and hands that are shedding innocent blood, a heart fabricating hurtful schemes, feet that are in a hurry to run to badness, a false witness that launches forth lies, and anyone sending forth contentions among brothers."

Four elders back east formed a construction company and would buy properties under three of the names. They would default on the loans and the fourth elder would buy the properties at auction for pennies on the dollar. When brought to the attention of the society people were cautioned not to gossip but NOTHING was done with the elders that were bilking millions and rolling in the dough.

The son of a pretty large family that occupied a few congregations here in NY was arrested as the primary suspect in a homicide. This information came courtesy of my mother from one of the queen gossips in my former congregation. This was roughly two years or so ago during a time when I couldn't have given a rat's arse -- but it did appear in a local rag.

Sword of who? Can you get ANYTHING RIGHT?????? Slander is verbal LIBEL IS WRITTEN geesh. Maybe if your head wasn't so FAR up your butt sometimes you could look this up on the internet before posting and making a butt of yourself.

Also, if it is the truth why is it gossip? Gossip is speculation. Truth is truth if they didn't do it we wouldn't be talking about it.

Reasons why some Bethelites were dismissed from Bethel. I am only saying how bethel justified it. In most cases, it was harsh and excessive treatment fomented against the individuals:

    - Donning Bart Simpson masks and making a midnight water gun attack on one of their buddies. The masks were worn on Halloween. It displayed immaturity (DUH they were all only 19-21 yrs old) and participating in a demon based holiday.

    - One bethel elder being sent to Law School paid for by the society in Ontario screwed around on his wife. His ex-wife is still at Bethel.

    - Bethelite appeared in TV commercials and movies. Was doing acting as a sideline. The roles played in the movies and commercials were not reflective of bethel standards for "christian ministers'.

    - Bethelite admitted to fornication that happened several years prior to going to Bethel. He was dismissed since he wasn't qualified to come to bethel in the first place.

    - Bethelite charged by the police for public exposure. He was found masturbating in a public washroom.

    - Bethelite caught with pornographic material.

    - Bethelite refused to get rid of record collection.

You will note that dismissal from Bethel is for anything from minor infractions to 'major sins'. No reason is ever given for the dismissal. Anyone dismissed from bethel loses all privileges for a year and is essentially disqualified from any 'special' privileges of service in the future. So the guys who wore bart Simpson masks received the same punishment as someone who admitted to fornication.

The unloving manner in which bethel deals with individual bethelites (the grunts get screwed, the elite get away with much more) and how they deal with individual members of the congregations is in my opinion the greatest sin of an organization that claims to represent god.

I have known several really bad cases involving men of position. But what really topped the list was one that my husband told me about.

There were two brothers, not sure if they were an elder, MS, or just a reg. publishers. My husband never did tell me their names.

One of the brothers owned a red sports car. He was driving down the road when he saw another JW walking down the road. He picked him up. Then in return the JW he picked up turned around and killed him. Dumped the body and stole his car. Yes, he did go to prision.

    Here is a true story!

About two years ago, no three, no hold it I think it was like five years ago, anyways, five years ago, well it wasn't five, I can't really recall. There was this elder, maybe he was an MS at the time, no hold it,I know, it was a regular pioneer, not a guy but a girl. Yeah she looked at me funny in one meeting. I will never forget that look. All JWs are the same!
