It’s gone to far IMO, things like closing all the skate parks where the youths like to gather.

No, things where people congregate SHOULD be shut down - they are risking the spread of infection, how can you not understand the basics even now?!

But people on their own having a quiet walk in the countryside are not infecting anyone.

I think it’s unreasonable to expect these places to remain desolate for at least six months, like they’re saying. Half the kids at these places are usually there to escape family’s of serious dysfunction also.

Of course people can make use of skate parks with out putting the community at unnecessary risk, it’s not a germ fest like the petrol bowser handle.

It’s outdoors, keep the distance and enforce reasonable social distances, we are in for this for the long haul

Now, the state governor isn't allowing married couples/significant others to ride together in golf carts - one of them has to walk. Previous week's email indicated married couples were allowed to ride together in golf cart. Looks like they're really trying to enforce the 6 ft. rule.

    And now this: https://www.politico.com/states/new-york/albany/story/2020/04/03/cuomo-plans-to-use-national-guard-to-seize-ventilators-from-upstate-facilities-1271376

Cuomo only cares about his voting base in NYC, people in Upstate are really upset that they're seizing very expensive property from private (public hospital) facilities because DeBlasio in NYC doesn't have its act together even though he had the opportunity to buy ventilators, they invested in 'solar panels' (which are useless in NYS)

and tuition grants for illegal immigrants

And the Democrats claim "this one doesn't count" even though the state health authorities warned and recommended to purchase more, the report "wasn't binding". Well no shit Sherlock, when you advise the government, they can choose to ignore you.

Yes, this is the tyranny of the majority and why the constitution was setup as it was - otherwise the populous states dominated by a few large cities could ride roughshod over the other states with lower population and take anything they had.

It's wrong and immoral that those who have managed things properly and invested in having enough equipment for their population face having it taken away at the behest of what is tantamount to government thuggery.

Some good news - it looks like Italy and NYC may have turned the corner and be seeing reductions in the daily death tally.

Which means really the US/EU total should be turning it around, NY made up 50% of the US tallies and Italy 25% of the EU so a change there will reflect in the overall US/EU statistics even though they didn't start implementing social distancing until ~2 weeks ago.

NY was expected to peak next week, not bending down already.

Good for Italy too, I'm presuming we'll hear lots of heartbreaking stories in the upcoming year as Italy cut off care for all elderly people (65-80 depending on the region).

More evidence that Italy may have turned the corner with this thing - the rate of growth is definitely slowing. The next milestone will be seeing it tick over into negative, then we know we're really starting to get it beat:

In other news, it seems Pelosi dumped a ton of stock and purchased $5M in Amazon, Microsoft and Slack stock hours after a classified briefing on February 15 on the steps the government was going to take locking down the country. Some other Senators (at least 2 Dems and 1 Republican) seem to likewise be involved in some dodgy stock trading later that month after classified briefings.

It seems she knew, despite claims to the contrary, that people were going to need more remote work and deliveries and the government was told to prepare for such things, which some of our 'leaders' used to trade on the market to their benefit.
