Breaking News - NK Missile Overflies Japan
I have said it before and I will say it again: North Korea should not be allowed to get nuclear missiles.
Neither should Russia nor China, nor Pakistan, nor any of US enemies, nor anybody else but only the United States of America.
@Fisherman: Ok, so you think they should have nuclear missiles?
You know they are going to fly them across the US to the atlantic the moment they get them right?
You know they know that if a bit of conventional artillery aimed at some far-away city scares us shitless and leave us paralyzed to take action then, guess what, nuclear ICBMs must mean they can invade South Koreas northern provinces and expect everyone to go: uuuhhhh... that is very bad... but we cannot upset North Korea or they will nuke Dallas. Better leave this one to China!
Ppl are not thinking this one through. "leave it to china" is like sending a letter to the local crime boss telling him we would rather he didn't sell crack to the kids at school. Guess what: it is what he does!
"We'll see. We'll see." Donald Trumps latest comment about what US will do to NK.
hothabanero, as Cofty seems to imply, the only way to stop NK is to push them past the 38th.
Let me put it to you this way. Try "not allowing"China from having nuclear missiles or anyone else that already has them --like NK for instance.
@Fisherman: Are you gonna feign surprise when the china strategy fails and North Korea has a nuclear ICBM pointed at every North American city?
Hothabanero: During the Cuban missive crisis, the news and all the propaganda made out Kennedy and the US to be so mighty by not allowing FC to have missiles. But secretly-or not so public-the US had to vow to the USSR never to invade Cuba and to downsize or remove (don't remember which) missiles in Turkey. But in the media, Russia was made to seem they backed away. - Some mightiness abandoning then Cubans and also weakening US position in Turke!
@Fisherman: That made no damn sense.
I guess the problem in the Cuba crisis was that nobody wrote China and asked them to fix it lol
HH, you are looking at things superficially. What Kennedian mighty act will the US perform to not allow NK to shoot their missiles over people's houses -except to compromise same as Kennedy did? But that's all the US can do. KJU is no Saddam Hussein.
Morpheus pointed out that China is insidiously backing NK because it was China that gave NK the technology to begin with knowing that NK would use it against the US. Also, China has insinuated with few words that it would not allow the NK regime to collapse. Also, you are dreaming if you believe that the US will prevent NK to keep their toys. NK will keep them and promise to be nice.
Cofty pointed out that in the past when the US pushed NK too far, China got involved.
On the other hand, as Simon said, anything can happen.
"China has more leverage over North Korea than any other nation, but as Trump is learning, China has reasons to keep Kim in power and use him as a counterweight to America’s presence in South Korea. Trump can still lean harder on China and threaten sanctions there, but China is a huge U.S. trading partner and what hurts China would hurt American interests, too." -Yahoo Finance
Fisherman, that isnt news. That has been said a hundred times on this board in recent weeks.....
