  Any person who can find a way of deleting a comment before it has been posted should not be running a discussion board but should be baking brownies with God above.

  not to answer for scarlet, but thats not how i took it.....i took the comment to mean that his insults can be hurtful, and when someone is warned, deleted, warned, re-warned, edited, warned again......yet still decides to throw insults at every turn...how much is too much? obviously no one can delete a comment before it is made, but comments can be prevented if you know they are coming....and with some posters, you always know they are coming. just my opinion, and im not on a "delete t h" campaign.

  It is hardly surprising that he feels very strongly about this whole issue and I for one am sorry that he is not still here presenting his views.

  The amazing thing to me, is the lies that were spewed by the Bush regime, you know I might actually be in favor of a war, had the Bush regime not clouded the entire issue with lies. Why should I trust someone that lies to me. There is a thing called integretity. It would be better to say, they can't say anything because of national security, than to try to make up stuff, and then get caught. Why would you trust someone like that, and blindly follow them? I mean you left the JW org, which lied to you, why go back to following a person that is doing the same thing? Religion and politics don't mix, it fosters extermism. What really nailed it for me with Bush, was when he started ear-marking federal money to religious organizations, under the premise of community centers. There is no oversight for this, and I'm really pissed, that the JW religion can now use my Tax money to build kingdom halls, if they have a "community center". Since there is no oversight, there is all kinds of potential for abuse. Don't believe the JW's will do this, remember how much they hated the UN?

  Simon, obviously there are reasons to ban someone, I just suggest that the decision be placed in the hands of more than just one or two people. Like I said, the board is too big and important to let people's biases make it a bad experience for some. Whatever you do with your board is up to you, it is merely a suggestion on my part.

  Speaking of biases however, I think we all must acknowledge that we have them. I do, you do, everyone does and it effects our actions weather we are aware of it or not. We all have freindships with certain people, there's bias there when we talk about how we view certain people on the board. We all have different opinions and those who identify with such, another bias that can affect things. It is not the point that you deal with some people's insults and not others. I realize that you are not available to police the board at all times, nor do I expect you to, but how are those people dealt with afterwards? Why do some people continue to get away with this continually, and then go to other boards and rip people a new one, while others are immediately cut off? Of course biases are involved here, thats simply human nature, but certainly you can see why some people view this approach as unfair at times, can't you? We have lost far too much over these "battles".

  For what it's worth... I'll give my PERSONAL opinion on the matter...

  Simon... I think that this is your board and you have the right to monitor what people post here and moderate here... BUT... Deleting someone for what he says ON ANOTHER BOARD I think is wrong... you can't go out moderating all the boards out on the internet... or bringing what happens there to your board... if their views don't agree with yours you basically delete them or lock the thread or give much more lee way for people that have your same views.

  You have done a great job with this board... and I think it has helped A LOT of people including myself... but PLEASE... with this incident I get reminded of the OLD JW days were you had to be careful WHO and WHERE you talked to because if you said things bad about the Elders or the F & D.S you could be shunned and booted out of the cult (it happened to me) ...

  My personal opinion is... as long as they don't attack you or anyone else HERE don't bring it here... as you had reminded people that have a personal problem with another... you can email that person personally don't bring it out to the forum...

  my point was about casting stones ...... people offering to post links to insults when they've made more than their fair share themselves.

  Dakota Red is one of the posters i have enjoyed reading since he arrived here, I will miss his viewpoint on alot of matters.

  As for my personal belief that Bush is doing the right thing in Iraq, I have never stated I supported everything Bush is doing in this country. Supporting the war does not make me a 'Bush follower" or that i agree with everything he says.

  i thought this comment deserved a repeat.....most of us feel this way!!! every time anyone supports the war they are seemingly lumped into this "bush follower" crowd that "blindly" agrees with everything the administration says and does. it gets a bit annoying to be constantly labeled like this......cant we support the war, and not neccesarily think that everything coming out of bushs mouth is gold? can i be a "republican" and still disagree with some of the republican policies? politicians lie.....republicans, democrats, independents.....you pick, the lies are equal on all fronts.

  I've been away for a couple of days and I can't believe what I see. DAKOTA has been kicked off and like a bad penny, TRAUMA HOUND is still around with his award-winning personality (not!). Pathetic...really disheatening and pathetic.

  Random task: I do resent being told I am biased simply because I have taken a decision that I think needed to be made. Please remember that we are all 'volunteers' here and do not have the time to arrange committees and such like for every event. I have taken my decision and that is it. You do not have all the information that I have so you may think I am being biased when I am not.

  If we did do this then we would be immediately accused of having a judicial committe system. J.H.C. this is only a discussion forum!

  I think there are far too many insults being thrown about lately but from both sides. I hope both sides will stop it and stick to debating the topic.

  Email: You can think what you want but it is not that case. If you can point me to topics where I have been one sided then I'll be glad to reconsider but I think you will have a hard time. I will be able to point to as many if not more locked or edited anti-war posts.

  I said sometime ago that people are free to post whatever they want on other forums but they should not expect to sail back here and use my system after bad-mouthing me or telling lies about me. On this occassion, DR was using the forum to send invites for other people to go too and also bad-mouthing me and conspiring to aggrevate someone so as to get them deleted. I put a lot of time and effort into this forum and do not expect this in return. He had already said he was through with this place. His decision. He has my email address if he wants to discuss it.

  Would you be happy for me to go onto your site and post away merrilly while insulting you and plotting against your board elsewhere? I think not.

  Yes, Dakota Red was a good poster and will be missed but I cannot let people do things like this as it would be unfair to the other posters who want to use the forum properly.
