I don't - simply because I can remember being that age - and not myself nor my friends would have done that without being told to by parents or teachers.
The point is - if the kids did not really write it - then it is exploitation.

The major concern is not about getting shot ... a sniper could shoot someone a half mile away ...
The issue is with kidnapping. A highly visible child is worth far more alive then dead. There's not much to negotiate with once the child is dead. Ask any wealthy parent in Mexico, Columbia or other high-risk countries. Ask the parents if they are more afraid of the likelihood of someone shooting their child or someone kidnapping the child.
