    Aunt Connie,

My ex-MIL was not a jw but a "Christian" and had many similar issues, particularly the anger and the need to be seen as perfect.

I believe that much of the problem is down to the controlling religion. Despite many contrary NT messgaes they promote that

    1. There are rules that must be strictly obeyed.

    2. "Good" people that follow them will be rewarded in this life and the next

    3. "Bad" people that don't must be punished and ignored until they see the error of their ways.

So, according to your rules, you have done your best and are not rewarded with universal approval or happiness. Time to take a hard look at the rules and the rulers!

Well Ive already told you what i think of you.

However you are completely uneducated and in a cult. Your comments regarding antidepressants and people who suffer with mental health issues are evidence of your ignorance.

But the best thing I can say is that I am a nurse.

If you have a problem - the best thing you can do is go and get professional help. If you have depression (its sounds at the very least you may do) and you leave it undiagnosed and treated - effectively...not just treated but the treatment must be effective this can spiral out of control and you can end up with MAJOR MAJOR mental health problems and admitted to a psych unit.

That is the extreme..but is true.

So put aside your prejudice on antidepressants...they are absolute shit

Go see a psychiatrist. You need to find a good one, one that you feel you can be completely open with and they can understand you. The psychiatrist needs to understand about cults to have an understanding of how you are suffering and how this is your life...

Then if the psychiatrist orders antidepressants ask questions about side effects. Not all antidepressants cause weight gain. If depression is untreated you may even loose your sex drive...so you should get treated...

then after being on the tablets for a while you will be having regular visits to the doctor and he will monitor your progress....if they are not working or make you feel worse, he will change them to another. With antidepressants its a trial and error thing till they get the right fix.

Now I say go to a psychiatrist - WHY? well GPs are not specialists in mental health things and medications. You need a good specialist.. because they will know what doses they can go up to and what combinations of drugs to trial...that is their job...they do it day in day out...this way you will have the best chance at getting well

you would be on them for about 6-12 months of being well then the psychiatrist may start to think about weaning them off. and that will be done slowly.

The biggest mistake you can do is compare your symptoms to another....because you don't know the complete diagnosis of the other person - that is why they could not get out of bed etc

everyone is different and requires assessment

and taking antidepressants doesnt mean you are screwed up....complete ignorance once again....depression is a chemical imbalance that needs to be treated...not that the person is a screw up...you know you are very insulting to people...

you need to get out of that cult and get a bloody education and understand people and the world around you

AuntConnie, funny part is I haven't called you a troll. I just said I didn't believe your story because of how insensitive you sound.

So I am not sure why you even named me in one of your responses. There was nothing there I said. Others did.

    Oh well.

If you are for real, listen to the folks urging you to get help. You are not alone.

    AC:

You sound like all JW's who consider themselves above others.

one of the saddest things about being a jehovahs witness is the self pride, self centered greater than thou attitude.

From the bethel Elders to the Pioneers to those whom consider themsleves above others and that as a god given right.

    What a load of crap!.

The thing you claim is nothing less then pride.

Whats is eating you up is that you can see others like your parents whom woke up years ago, and are probably hanging in their just because of YOU.

but in reality they woke up, YOU DIDNT.

but you are looking at it the wrong way. you are trying to hold onto what you know in reality to be a lie.

THAT is the only thing eating you up.

It sounds like your husband is a GB lakie and a sucker for every sucker. lol

suckers always get sucked. thats one rule of life, especially so in JW language, it is what you are taught from the start.

You should ask yourself a few simple questions.

    Am i a sucker?

Do i want to be a sucker?

Do i like being a sucker?

How do i stop being a sucker?

Here on this forum you can find these answers.

    Cheers

    Welcome AC

It seems to me you have been living by the rules to create yourself a lifestyle, and you have become dissillusioned by it. That is understandable, in the cult you are into, you will only find dissappointment.

I am concerned that you are heading for a breakdown, can i suggest you take a vacation from your JW activities for a couple of weeks and try to see life from a different perspective. I'd also recommend seeing your mum, don't live with regret over not seeing her before it is too late.

The expression, 'cannot see the woods for the trees' comes to mind as I read your posts.

To fellow 'weak and exjws' - remember we can see things a lot more clearly than 'good jws' who have been indoctrinated.

I'm not going to question whether you are a serious poster or not. I am going to say that you will make an excellent republican.

I have noticed that people who heavily criticize others usally hate themselves the most.

    I don't hate myself.

    I am an ex JW

I had the balls to leave my family, social network, safety net - that does not make me weak.

    I AM FREE!

AuntConnie you are stuck in that world untill........You open that door and look behind the Curtain. If you continue to stay and not open that door, you'll die a slow and unhappy death of frustration. You can keep ranting on about the problems you see but realize that solutions are there for you to take.

This thread is yet more proof that the Watchtower organization is nothing more than another harmful, mind controling cult which ultimately ruins lives.

I pity you as I have been through the whole experience myself, not unlike yours.

The day we, as a family, made a pile of 4 wheelbarrow loads of Watchtower books collected over a thirty year period and put a match to it was an incredible thing. I wish you could have seen it!

We turned our back to the fire and wiped our feet vowing never to go back.

You should remove yourself from it completely and your husband will respect you for standing up for your human rights.

I also have squandered valuable time on wastrel JW's who are not worth the time of day.

We once helped this sponging family move three times in 18 months because they would not pay a removal company. At the hall they would treat us like dirt.

Your husband is wasting his precious time-don't let him waste yours!!!
