    My two cents...

    (1) I have personally spoken to the Herald Sun reporter (face to face here in Melbourne) and I can honestly say that this story is true. He spoke to the Watchtower's Australian lawyer, the Victorian Police ... etc to confirm the story before it was printed. He would lose his job if this story was a scam.

    (2) I still have a relative who is an elder here in Melbourne (Victoria) and he has received an application form to apply for the 'Working With Children' check because of the Steven Unthank’s court proceedings.

    Scam my ass!

I don't know anything about finding out what might be a fraud on the internet or not... but... when I read the earlier post that spoke about the image of the girl, I understood that it meant this was a representation of a girl who had been raped. Something to show the heartache and pain of the child; not the actual image of the child.

That was the impression that I got. It never even occurred to me that it was the real girl. Just chiming in.

    Peace,

    Tammy

Shirley, He has not responded to my posts so far. If I am wrong, then I am wrong. The more I am reading about this, Steven Unthank is not a fraud.

He explained the " sex club" thing. It is a group of teenagers it seems at a particular High School and one Congo, I think. The teens were sending porn pics to each other and sounds like engaging in prostitution. I thought I understood him to say that he was told this by a 12 yr old girl and tried to report it.

I don't recall what else he said but I will say this. If any of the police force/ community leaders / or their families were involved, they will try and cover it up.

Without clicking any links, I googled New Zealand pressing charges against Jehovah's witnesses by Steven Unthank. Most of the links come here. But one did go to the Herald Sun that 3mozzies mentions above.

@sizemik, your reply was reasonable, thanks. I am reading from a few posters that they say the cases are real and that is encouraging. I have no idea why in such a circumstance anyone would need to set up a bogus website to confirm it.

I have tried to verify it myself by going to the website for the court and so far I have found no references at all. So, contrary to your assertions, I have looked.

I appreciate you saying you did not agree with his approach on a number of levels. I think this is the reason why it disturbs people, including me. The cases may be real but his way of publicising it is dubious at best and raises more questions than they resolve.

cyberjesus . . . the host site is blacklisted ie; ozehosting.com. The linked information is genuine and sourced from the genuine site; magistratescourt.vic.gov.au. It is simply an indictment on the hosting site Scenic Viewer chose to access it.

Anybody who has kept up to date with the court listings as they appeared through the genuine site know this. The govt website is a public service to inform of court schedules in advance. Any who want to verify these things in hindsight once a case has been dismissed may well have missed out. The screen shot Scenic Viewer posted is genuine from memory, as I have accessed the govt site many times over many months and seen the same information. Court transcripts and records of certain hearings are not kept if the case is not admitted to trial. If you snooze you lose I guess . . . you may just have to live with your doubts.

Tammy . . . change New Zealand for Australia . . . an understandable error.

Hopefully it is just a spelling error. . . . OHC

OHC your post seems to have dissappeared . . . but you are correct. Well spotted and thanks for the correction.
