Feb. 15th WT - WT Society says DFed Ones are Lawless- Just Like Demons

    Someone quoted:

"He said: "Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them.

    DJ responded:

No. First I don't see a law, and second, the word that the article about which @flipper spoke was "lawlessness." We weren't talking about any particular law

at all, so why are you? This is not a law. "Abstain from fornication" (Acts 15:20) is a law. "You must not commit adultery...,murder...,steal..., covet..."

(Romans 13:9) are laws. You're off topic.

I get that this is off-topic, but conversations around here (and in RL) tend to do that. So I would just like to quote from the bible, myself, in response:

Luke 6:46 - "Why do you call me, Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?"

Christ also asks us to show mercy... something that df'ing does not do. But we can leave that alone for now, and just match the reinstatement process against the mercy that Christ taught.

Is it merciful to make a df'd person, who has repented and wants to be reinstated, work his/her way back in, continuing to be shunned and forced to sit alone in the back of a room for six months to a year? Or should - keeping in mind Christ's words of forgiveness and mercy (as well as the parable of the prodigal son) - forgiveness as soon as the person has repented?

Lack of mercy and/or forgiveness is a far, far worse sin (lawlessness) than smoking... or even any of the others rules, because we ALL sin, and we ALL depend on the mercy of God and His Son.

I find it interesting that you can apply smoking to 'lack of love for self and others', but you cannot seem to do the same in other aspects, most especially lack of mercy.

    Flipper:

"The WT society silences those who wish to report child molesters to the police authorities, some have been DFed for going to the police reporting on elders who committed this FELONY crime. Parents are NOT INFORMED if a registered sex offender moves from one congregation to another with a past of child abuse offenses. Elders are informed- but NOT parents."

Listen closely Djeggnog, you abomination of a Watchtower worshipping Pharisee. You are, by virtue of your defense of your demonized organization, an accomplice to their crimes. Thus you make yourself worthy of the same punishment that should be handed out to them.

Take a look at these young ladies, victims of pedophiles whom you, in your morally depraved insanity, consider worthy of death by virtue of not groveling to those pedophile cuddling monstrosities. Then, if you have a milligram of conscience in your being, look in the mirror and condemn yourself as worthy of the same brutal death you, as a Watchtower slave, wished upon others.

"Love your neighbor as yourself" was the second greatest commandment, yes... but by 'preaching the good news' is an addition by the WTS, or whatever other denominations teach this.

Not saying that sharing the hope of Christ and the Kingdom isn't important, but your wording is misleading in that it makes it seem as if Christ said that the preaching was the second greatest commandment.

    Just an observation.

Or maybe the son had been DFd by a JC for attempted suicide (Flock 5:4). Obviously the elders wouldn't want someone suicidal to "contaminate" the flock or bring reproach on the congregation.

Wow, it may be because it is so late at night but your post djeggnog was not always reflective of the current view of the governing body on how to treat Df'd people. In 1974 the rules were not as strict as they are today and certainly the views expressed in such an article would be considered old light. In recent years the current view has been to show a more hard line attitude.

The scriptures used to justify the shunning of members who leave have been misapplied and you really need to look into that before quoting them with watchtower rhetoric. You may sincerely believe what you say I did once but sadly Df'ing and shunning are used by cults to prevent ex-members from letting the current flock know there is a problem with the organisation. simple as.

Eggnog - I was disfellowshipped for "apostasy" because I said I do not belive that the FDS's representatives, the governing body, are not gods sole channel of communication on earth. How the hell is that "lawlessness"?

I refuse to commit idolatory, and am DF'd for it.

I can not show repentance for what I did without compromising my belief that the governing body are setting themsleves up as idols.

You talk to others about what you say here! Where exactly do you tell them you do your talking? You obviously know that many here are disassociated or df'd so how do you justify this in your own conscience? Aren't we the very ones that you should shun ? I must be a sadist because I will continue to punish myself & never step foot in a k.h. again & FYI I'm not df'd. We have a freedom here you can't begin to understand. Kudos to Mr. Flipper & all who respond to this sheep that has strayed from the wt pen.

The new Flock book includes Brazen conduct as a reason to form a JC and possibly disfellowship someone (5:9). The following paragraph (5:10) has a short list of these practices. The first bullet point is:

    • Willful, continued, unnecessary association with disfellowshipped nonrelatives despite repeated counsel.

The second bullet point, evidently putting them on some kind of "brazenness equality":

    • Child sexual abuse: This would include fondling of breasts, an explicitly immoral proposal, showing pornograph to a child, voyeurism (peeping tom), indecent exposure, and so forth.

So, if the son had been DFd for some undisclosed reason that was kept "confidential" from his mom and the congregation, they could equally assume that he had done something as terrible as child sexual abuse, when he had only been working with some business clients that happened to be disfellowshipped.

As far as the GB is concerned, saying a greeting to someone disfellowshipped is as bad as abusing a child.

    @DJeggnog quotes LouBelle as saying:

The screws are tightening even more on the rank and file who unfortunately cannot or do not have the desire to think for themselves. They will eat this [drivel] with renewed vigor I'm sure and will thank the GB for sending food at the proper time. My aunt is going through a tough time at the moment. Her 2 sons are staunch JW's and have [threatened] to go to the elders and "tell on her" (she's been questioning, researching and visiting other churches)

    and replies:

So let me get this straight: This woman's two sons are trying to get their mother, your aunt, disfellowshipped so that they can shun her. Is this what you are saying? And if their "plan" should turn out to be successful, because she's an apostate and she knowingly perverts the scriptures in any way, this will prove that "the rank and file .. cannot or do not have the desire to think for themselves"? You also said "that they have to go to such lengths to keep speaking freely":

    (my bolding)

This deliberate distortion is a form of lying and typical of much that I read in WT publications.

And, yes, it is on topic - studying the Bible and questioning or reaerching is actually recommended in the Bible itself. It is no sin, not lawlessness and absolutely no reason to remotely consider cutting off contact with a person.

Question, The Gov. body members, do they have childrens, how many

are married. Where they abuse as kids, where some of the members

orphans and miss out on a normal family life. They have A problem

A big one. No one that came from A normal happy family, A loving

Father and Mother would in good conscience destroy so many families.
