    Hi Mrs jones

I just refer you to the whole of the Bible! read and see that God has a united people from beginning to end and gave us the bible for that purpose. Unity among Jehovah's people is a massive Bible theme! a basic one too.

I shouldn't have to quote scripture and verse for such an obvious truth! yet I will if You want me too?

A person can study the bible with any christian Faith and test them against the bible

Anonymous4 has seen that we have Biblical truth in our teachings yet is going to be stumbled by the anti-witness rhetoric on here.

    I find that sad.

    Hi Outlaw
We are not just meant to quote the Bible like a mantra..

So you quote WBT$ Literature like a mantra..And..That mantra is always changing..

We are supposed to use it like a tool.

Show me from the Bible..How you are supposed to use WBT$ Literature along with the Bible..

The wt's refer us to the bible and show us the bible explanations for what we believe. They refer everything to scripture and demonstrably so.

The WBT$ uses the Bible to Prop up WBT$`s ever Changing beliefs..The Bible never Changes..But..

The WBT$ will use the Bible to support the New WBT$ beliefs..

The WBT$ is Corrupt and Dishonest..

The bible itself mentions various writings in both the hebrew and greek scripture that
while not inspired clearly showed the allowance for written work outside of God's word directing us too God's word.

You have no Education in Ancient Greek or Hebrew..I`ve seen your Debates with People that Do..

You have no idea what the Bible says in it`s Original Language..

All you know is what the WBT$ tells you..

So they are Bible studies there is not one where we do not goto the Bible for reference and guidance.

    Bullshit..

There are No Bible Studys in Watchtower World..

Jehovah`s Witness`s study WBT$ Literature about the Bible..There is No Bible Study..

    Debator,

please read 2Tim 3:16,17: All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

We both agree Paul speaks about the bible as we know it. Paul stated clearly that the one applying scripture is "FULLY competent, COMPLETELY equipped". You see, no need for supplementary publications like the Watchtower.

The greatest christian entity mentioned in the Greek Scriptures is a congregation. Jesus communicates directly with congregations as shown in revelation 2 & 3. No organisation needed. An organization that claims itself "inspired" is implying the Holy Spirit is not good enough, as if God needed some help. God does not need our help, we need his. Quotes of an organization who claims divine backing (and thereby rejects the Holy Spirit), you can find in the Watchtower of 15SEP2010. Enjoy your Sunday.

    HI hoffnung

We do use the Bible as our only reference and guide, the publications direct us to the Bible alone. they are also used for administrative functions, encouragement and current cultural issues that need biblical principle applied to them.

The bible itself references written works, letters that support it while not being inspired themselves. this is allowed. And indeed a way the congregations and shepherds functioned practically.

    2 Cor 10:11, Col 4:16, Act 22:5, Acts 15:20

1 cor 7:1 "now for the matters you wrote about...

Acts 18:27 "The brothers and sisters encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him."

    Hi Debator,

Thank you for confirming your belief in the bible. Of course it is allowed to use other references, as long as they are not given MORE or SUPREME importance over the bible. Unfortunately the bible is not studied in the weekly meetings of JW, but rather the Watchtower, the kingdom ministry, or another book. Even if a multitude of references (usually it is less than a mere 10 bible verses) is read during one meeting, it does not take away that the subject of study is NOT the bible. It should be the other way around, the bible should be read A LOT MORE during the meetings, and the other publications like the watchtower A LOT LESS.

Just as all christian religions, the interpretation of certain verses has become more important than the message of Jesus, therefore the focus of the studies are on these interpretations, and everybody who rejects these interpretations is libeled an 'apostate', even if the bible is not specific about this point, or even worse, if it clearly contradicts this interpretation. As you must know, the biblical apostate is the one who rejects Jesus as Christ, the Jehovah's Witnesses apostate is the one who rejects the doctrines of the Governing Body, just to mention one such interpretation. Every religion has gone this road, and Jehovah's Witnesses as religion is no exception. Please take your bible and read the many accounts of preaching by Paul and Peter in the book of Acts, and you will see they never ever mentioned the hope of surviving Armaggeddon to live forerver on Paradise Earth. The live-forever-on-Paradise-earth message is one of many interpretations, clearly not a christian message. If you reply to this, please use alone the Christian Greek Scriptures.

Gan Eden (Eden) and Olam Ha-Rah(World to Come) have grown up and been an integral part of Judaism for centuries preceeding the time of (Jesus) Yeshua be Yoseph. Ideas grew as the sophistication of the culture grew from Nomadic to City/State. The Midrasch contains the most details.

If the 'Peter' and 'Paul' characters in the NT are silent about this well known Jewish Belief then it is their own fault for ditching Synagogue Studies.

The contemporary of Jesus, Tanna (Talmudic Rabbi ) Yochanan ben Zakkai made the point that the world beyond the grave was in God's capable hands.

Where is your biblical basis for telling people to study the bible alone without help from others?

There is a huge difference between studying the bible with someone else to express their thoughts and ideas about what it's saying, and being told by a bunch of idiotic men who have never gotten one single prophecy right that you MUST believe their constantly shifting ideas of what 'biblical truths' are, in order to gain eternal salvation. Jesus encouraged his disciples to "encourage one another" and the earliest Christians most definitely got together to discuss the events surrounding Jesus' life and death, but there is nothing to indicate that all of the earliest Christians were under a dictatorial rule by the apostles. In fact, that is what Jesus condemned the Pharisees for: being a bunch of tyrants. The Governing Body members today bear no resemblance whatsoever to early Christianity---on the other hand, they are a mirror image of how the NT describes the Pharisees.

We do use the Bible as our only reference and guide, the publications direct us to the Bible alone.

Bullshit. If that were the case, there would never have been all the flip-flopping on embarassing doctrines over the last 130 years. Anyone can take a scripture and say "The Lord spoke to me and revealed that [the scripture in mind] means [insert interpretation]. The GB aren't the only ones who do that mind you, there are a ton of other ones that have done the exact same thing, though probably without the disastrous consequences that the WTS is responsible for. And when push comes to shove, the elders will favour whats written in the WT rather than the bible. This has been demonstrated at Judicial Committees where the accused can prove from the bible that they are wrong. The elders don't care and will ignore what the bible says in favour of what their senile leaders claim instead.

they are also used for administrative functions, encouragement and current cultural issues that need biblical principle applied to them.

Ya riiiiight. Can you please point us to a scripture where the earliest Christians set up numerous legal corporations and hired lawyers to deal with lawsuits?
