  Being very interested in Psychology I read a book as a teenager and re-read it last year called " Gestalt Therapy Verbatim " by Frederick Perls M.D. Ph, D. . It deals with dreamwork therapy in which he conducted seminars helping people to re-connect with subconscious parts of themselves by recounting their dreams . Perls theory was that we dream about " unfinished situations " at times in our lives and that if we keep track of our dreams we can re-connect with our hidden parts of our personality within our subconscious minds. Perls states in his book on pg. 67, " Now if my contention is correct, which I believe of course it is, all the different parts of the dream are fragments of our personalities. Since our aim is to make every one of us a wholesome person , which means a unified person, without conflicts, what we have to do is put the different fragments of the dream together. We have to re-own these projected, fragmented parts of our personality , and re-own the hidden potential that appears in the dream. "

  So it's pretty interesting stuff I've been interested in at times looking into dreams. I'm certainly no expert, but I have logged some of my dreams down to try to interpret them at times. Last night I had a pretty freaky dream : My wife Mrs. Flipper and I were at a kingdom hall /fast food restaurant in which we could all sit at tables eating our fast food while listening to the speaker giving a talk. During the talk - some Gestapo type elders dressed in black suits came and grabbed a young attendant in his early 20's and told him " We are escorting YOU to the restroom ! " They had a hateful look on their faces and looked at us as they passed my wife and mom and dad and my table. My mom stated, " That's not the way elders are supposed to treat brothers and sisters ! " I then said, " Is that how a loving organization's leaders treat it's members ? " My dad just shook his head and said, " No, it's not. " Then suddenly up near the stage a commotion broke out and a man was threatening to shoot some JW fast food employee because they wouldn't hand over a quarter pounder with cheese to them with fries ! They wanted it free of charge ! " Then I mentioned to my parents and wife " this is crazy in here, we should really leave. " Then we left, and the dream was over.

  I still haven't figured out WHAT my dream is telling me - however what dreams have you had lately ? Feel free to share them here on this thread. And perhaps we can assist each other to analyze them. Hey, even if it's for fun. Never know, we may end up with some pretty interesting discussions and analysis of some things ! LOL!   My dreams.... horrible.

  Getting on Elevators, and they run out of control, up 100's of floors, like a rocket.... the ride is uncontrollable and frightening. It always has to do with being at an assembly with my family at a hotel. Can't remember my room number but always remember the floor. Once back down I am always scared to try the elevator again.

  I always have flying or driving dreams...I am small and able to lift off the ground and fly where ever I want to be. I just have to think a certain way and I am way over everything.....If I start doubting my ability to fly I get closer and closer to the ground.

  Crazy stuff.

  I use to have horrible demon dreams. I was afraid to go to sleep at night.

  Now, no matter what I wake up at 2:00 pm, take the dog out for a pee......if he will get up. I sit for an hour reading JWN...and go back to bed at 3.

  Flipper...

  For years - (maybe ten years) - I've had a re-occuring nightmare.

  Without going into details... I interpreted the dream.

  Basically... figured out the meaning of the dream.

  Used that to make a correction in my life. And that correction was a very helpful one - and mostly in attitude.

  And haven't had that nightmare since.

  Hi Flipper this is Mr Bumble RosePetals hubby here. As you probably know sigmund Freud proposed that dreams arise out of our inner conflict between unconscious desires and prohibitions against acting out these desires which we learn from society. Dreams are symbolic or metaphors for out true underlying feelings as the theory goes. I don't put a lot of stock in sigmund Freuds ideas but lets have a go. As an example I had a dream the other night that I was eating a large marshmellow and when i woke my pillow was gone. ha ha in that reconning I need to change my diet. anyway lets have a go at yours. The fast food at the k/hall represents the Junk spiritual food we used to get from the GB the speaker giving the talk is the same thing. The gistapo like elders escorting the young man to the rest room is a reflection of yourself because of the critisism you have of the org. and represents the concern you have for others on this board and in the org. who mistreated. Your fathers response indicates your inner desire those close to you must feel the way you do. The shootest represents your subconscious self wanting to expose the GB and thier representatives for denying your right for Gods grace without working for your salvation. If this sounds crazy it probably is.

  Mr. Flipper... I love your dream! Seems to me that it's quite symbolic of the whole JW/WTS experience. Mr. Bumble's interpretation seems quite accurate. I love his sentence here ... The fast food at the k/hall represents the Junk spiritual food we used to get from the GB

  Sometimes I go a long time without any dreams that I remember. Sometimes I have dreams that incorporate something that happened to me that day or a part of a movie I've seen. I have some dreams that reoccur.

  One that reoccurs quite frequently is the one similar to restrangled's in which I am on an elevator that is not only rocketting up and down but also at odd angles, tilting and tumbling at break neck speeds as well.

  Another one that reoccurs is one where I am sitting on a blanket at the edge of a forest on a hill. I am in the shade of the trees and the sun is shining. It is summer time. The view is breathtaking. I am wearing a dress and have a picnic lunch with me. A gorgeous black Egyptian Arabian stallion comes galloping up the hill and slides to a stop in front of me. He reaches his head down and I pat him and give him a carrot. He lips my hand, sniffs my cheek, and then walks a short distance away to graze on some grass. Sometimes I am painting a picture, sometimes I have a book with me to read, sometimes I have a camera and am taking photographs. Why the heck I am in a dress confounds me because I don't usually wear dresses! A number of my dreams involve the country, the outdoors, and horses.

  Note to self- easy on the existentialist stuff before bedtime.....its worse than Pizza

  This was more like a vision. Was away on vacation and suddenly sat straight up in the bed after being awoken by a vision of my house with all the front windows busted out. The next day, I got a call from the Fire Marshall that my house had caught fire. After returning from vacation to check out the damage.....all 8 of the front windows were busted out.

  Wow. Thanks for the responses ! I'll try my best to give my take on your dreams AND my dream. Interesting responses. This will be fun.

  RESTRANGLED- Wow. A very scary dream for you. The word you use I feel is important here. You say going up the fast elevator felt "uncontrollable " and frightening. My take is that for a good part of your life - especially when younger you often felt you had no control over your circumstances , especially regarding the witnesses , and when you came down and the elevator hit the ground - you felt reluctant to try again as you had no trust that you'd ever get control of your life back ! That's one reason you left the witnesses.

  I think your flying and driving dreams are an indicator you DO want freedom to express yourself and go " wherever I want to be ", which is a good thing , an escapism from the negative JW experience you had. It's the positive part of your subconscious personality coming out. As regards the demon dreams, I guess we can all blame the WT society for instilling fear of that in us. LOL !

  CONFUCIOUS- I'm glad you were able to come to a solution with your reoccurring nightmare. I'm happy for you that ir cleared some things up in your life. Good for you.

  MR. BUMBLE- Hello again. Very interesting stuff you mention. Sigmund Freud was an interesting cat. He had some hangups regarding sexuality from what I hear, that being said- it sounds like his takes on dreams were similar to Frederick Perls , that it's part of our hidden personality coming to the fore. Your pillow dream is interesting. And your take on MY dream seems very accurate. Thanks for your interpretation. It makes sense to me ! It's amazing to me how much I still dream about freeing people out of the JW cult all the time. I dream about my daughters and getting THEM out as well. Thanks for your take.

  HEAVEN- I agree with you- Mr. Bumble's take on my dream seemed very accurate. Especially I liked the junk spiritual food part- pretty awesome !

  Your elevator dream seems a bit different from Restrangled's to me in that your elevator is going at odd angles , tilting and tumbling at break neck speeds, instead of just up and down. To me, this indicates more of a confusion as to where your life is going at times , due to the different angles . Perhaps you are a really busy person and need to be a bit more organized. Just a wild guess- not etched in stone ! LOL!

  Your other dream about the beautiful Arabian horse reminds me of almost a romantic setting- the way you described it ! Perhaps the horse represents a dream man that you are awaiting as you mentioned the horse nuzzled you and sniffed your cheek ! LOL ! I mean- you are in a dress , having a picnic in a beautiful forest - how much more romance could a person want ? LOL ! So being in the country, the outdoor with horses ? Could indicate romance with a healthy man may be in store for you- unless you already HAVE a man ! LOL ! I don't know- but THAT is what message I see in this dream.

  DESIGNS- I can understand why you would want to avoid existentialist reading before bedtime. Sheesh. Funny.

  BURN the SHIPS- I'm glad you have extracted some meanings from your dreams. Hopefully it's helped you in a positive way.

Sometimes we can just get a weird feeling that something has happened in our instincts - and lo and behold something DID happen ! I'm so sorry that actually happened to your house ! You must have some psychic abilities of premonitions

  Yes, this really did happen. Was a few thousand miles away at the time. I've had other similar intuitive experiences, but this one was the most pronounced. Was a total insides destroyed, pain in the ass to repair mess, but eventually I fixed it better than before.
