    HS,

LOL I don't care, but brought it up because I think the RR story is like flogging a dead horse. Lies are commonplace here, and everywhere else in our world. Who cares? I'll have a few more shrimp and another beer or two before belching and being quite thankful for my humble existence.

This thread is brilliant. Mainly because it exposes the hypocricy of JWs, JWD, and all of us.

Honesty is extremely important to me in daily life. But hey, look, I'm lying about my very name here, aren't I? Do you believe my name is really Trevanian?

And how about you? How honest are you about who you are?

Let's go back to the topic:

Lies on Line...I always thought JWD was a forum for Honesty

Where on earth did that idea come from? A forum for honesty, populated by hundreds of people who went from door to door saying to people:

"We're not here to convert you, honest."

As blondie said, this is where we come from:

After many years in an organization that indirectly and directly encouraged deceit...

If this is a forum for honesty, then why am I posting as Trevanian and not under my real name? Why do only a small handfull of posters here use their real names, first names and surnames? Those, my friends, are the honest ones, and hats off to them. For getting the point, I hereby grant Priest73 the Post of The Thread Award

good god! can we all put on our big girl panties and get back to discussing the oral sex thread?!?!

Looking for honesty? Until you post your life story here under your real name, you're looking in the wrong place.

Trevanian, the Mojave Desert would have to freeze over before I'd post my current personal information on this board. I think this thread topic is a hypocritical joke. On a board of this size and traffic, not to mention the hordes of walking wounded just waiting for an opportunity (even if they may not entirely realize it) to lash out at people who don't agree with their religion or their politics or their opinions ... well it would be the epitome of bad judgement to share such details.

Does that mean one is a liar or dishonest by not doing so? Not at all, just exhibiting wisdom and prudence. You are confusing the Internet with Real Life.

I agree with you 100% Bisous. I'm attempting to highlight that very hypocrisy you speak of.

Since I exhibit many of the symptoms of ADD, I've done quite a bit of research on ADD/ADHD, and this statement didn't line up with anything I remember from my research. To confirm, I checked google, searching "adhd symptoms" and did not find "lying" listed as a symptom or warning signal on any of the following sites:

You are right sixofnine, I should clarify, that the therapist who was a specialist in ADHD that my brother saw, said they tend to lie, not always, not everyone, certainly not suggesting that because someone has ADD or ADHD that they are automatically liars, I should have worded that better, in my experience with people with it, more than my brother of course, the ones I have known do tend to tell tall tales, alot.

The therapist who I mentioned explained it came from a need, to have attention, whether negative or positive. But I am sure that personality comes to play alot in that as well and lots of people who don't have ADHD or ADD lie alot too. I apologize for not correcting stating what I intended to.

What I should have said I suppose was just that I had a brother who had a problem with lieing and left it at that, no offense was meant.
