Bubble and I can DEFINITELY do the London one - roll it on!

I would suggest starting to get rough numbers and booking somewhere fairly soon, London will be packed with bookings at that time of year.

We are also up for a trip to Bonnie Scotland next year!

    Regards,

    SAB and Bubble

Claire and I will do our utmost to attend. Whoever organises this can they recommend a good reasonably priced hotel or B&B near to the venue?

    Sweet Pea how about:

Wagamama 1 tavistock street, covent garden, london, WC2E 7PG

doesn't need a booking as its turn up and eat - saves trying to pin down specific numbers which is a nightmare for this sort of thing

    and...its 'award-winning' great healthy food

and...its in Central London, equally inconvenient for everyone :-)

and...there's plenty other pubs etc to go to afterwards for those who fancy a wee beer or three 8-)

Wags is a good idea I love that place, simple good menu, nice prices. There may be a little bit of waiting but I that'd be the time for introductions and stuff.

My only issue with that place is that the seating doesn't lend itself for big group discussions, as tehy are long and narrow. Or is it me being long and narrow...

This is true, it's unlikely will will all be able to sit together, Wagamamas is always busy.

In my experience of large gatherings in restaurants you end up speaking to the people beside you. The big round table wherever everyone joins in one huge communal conversation is a myth. So the bench style at Wagas will still give you the chance to speak to the 4 or 5 people in your immediate vicinity - perhaps more than at a round table?

The problem with booking a table is confirming numbers up front and then the inevitable no-shows, people turning up early/late etc etc - with Wagas we all just turn up (or not) find a seat with friends and get going.

Open to suggestions though - The Borg? Iveseenthelight? any better ideas for a venue?

Wagas is only the first concrete idea...
