Sounds like things are at least starting to go your way. I hope it stays that way. Hang in there.

    Hi Flyin'!

Thanks again for the update. I'm glad you can have some breathers here. I hope Andy's medicine keeps working properly (or more properly) from here on out. So much hinges on that, as well as his arm getting better. Thank so much for staying in touch with us all here!

    BIG HUGS,

I just got the news that my medical leave has been turned down by the home office. They are contacting the store director Kevin to change it to a personal leave, which I hope he will keep his word and do for me. If not, then I will be among the unemployed I guess. Please send positive vibes and prayers. I am trying not to get too upset.

Sending thoughts and prayers your way. Keep hoping!!!

JG has a current "My Granny (1902-1994)" that reminded me of a FHN thread from a few months back, about keeping treasured memories fresh....I don't know how to link it but it reminded me of your good heart.

I am trying very hard to keep a positive outlook. I am concerned about my daughter, my grandson's mother. She's not in a good place in her life was very disheartened when I spoke to her today. The thought of Mickey's future lying in the hands of caseworkers is very hard for her. She just isn't able to care for Mickey and it is breaking her heart. It breaks my heart to see her hurting. I only wish to help her, Andy and the boys. I only wish to do good. It's hard to accept that sometimes things just aren't within our power to do.

FHN please Google "Family Leave Act". I don't know the year that former President Clinton passed this law. It gives workers up to 3 months time off to care for ill family members plus other things. They HAVE TO KEEP YOUR JOB OPEN DURING THIS TIME.

    I used it. I know.

The lady from home office told me that I don't quaify becase these are my grandsons and because Andy is my fiance. She also told me I have not been with the company long enough. I still may get my personal leave, it just will not be a paid leave. This is just pooey.

This is bullshit! Why isn't your Union doing something to help you on this?! If you are stressed to the max and your doctor rights you a note stating that you need time off, it's my understanding that they cannot question the doctor and they cannot deny you the time off, unless they want their asses sued. And they certainly cannot fire you for this. I know you've got a lot on your plate, but if I were you, I think I'd be talking to a labour lawyer.

She may be right, but I NEVER take HR (Human Resources) word on anything. Is this a union-backed job? Talk to your union steward - unless he/she is an idiot - then go over their head.

I wouldn't give up. Were you given a "Handbook" guide when you started there? Pleeeeese look up the information for yourself. Too many times they don't/won't give you the correct or complete info.
