Since I rarely post on JWD anymore, I have just now heard of this challenging set of circumstances you have been dealing with. I am very sorry this has happened to you, but after carefully reading all of these pages I am also very impressed with your strength and perseverance.

I wish I had known earlier so as to offer assistance. If there is anything I can do, I would like to. Strength is wonderful, but we all need a little help from time to time. Hang in there ! With my using a Mac I can't send a PM here anymore, so I am at a loss as to how to contact you more personally to make the offer of help. Please let me know if there is another way to reach you (email?).

I think I should just make a yahoo e-mail address I can post here for people like you, Bisous, who can't PM. I'll do it when I am done with my post here.

I took Andy to the Robert B Center today. He really was so happy to be out in the fresh air and out of the hospital setting. It's more like a house, a big one in a regular neighborhood. The street is full of mature trees and houses with lovely gardens. The grounds are pretty.

Andy's mother told his sister that she was upset with him and me for not calling her to tell her that Andy was going today. She was so rude to me yesterday, on the phone, I don't know how she expects me to call her with news. I asked Beth if it was okay for me to relay things through her.

When Andy and I got outside the hospital, he said, "I gotta get another hit....of fresh air(song lyric), then he smoked a cigarette. It's his only vice and you can't smoke in the hospital. I had brought along the lyrics to I'll Stand by You by The Pretenders and I sang it to him. I am not the best singer, but he was very moved anyway. A few weeks ago he sang the Rolling Stones song You Got The Silver to me. It's one of the few Keith Richards wrote and sang lead on. He wrote it about Anita. Anyway, Andy said, "Ah so, we are Keith and Chrissy(Hyndes)." His face looks mostly healed up, but his arm looks pretty bad. He's still far from being himself, but at least he's not in the hospital.

Thank all of you for your ongoing support. It seems we have days of better news and hard days. It's not over and we miss Andy terribly. I still have the decision about Mickey to make in the next three weeks. I went for the parent picnic for his class. We played balloon games and the kids did a poem about Kindergarten for us. They were each given an award for some accomplishment they have made. Mick's was for the most improved in recognizing letters. Poor lil guy, he's delayed from all the trauma and loss in his life. I am hoping counseling and a good assessment can help us understand if this emotional immaturity and his learning delays are caused by his trauma or whether they exist separately.

I am looking forward to being able to tuck them in each night, rather than working and finding them asleep by the time I arrive home.

I'll keep you all posted. I'll also go make the yahoo mail address and come back and post it.

I'm soooo happy to hear that things are looking up for you guys.

And...... I enjoyed your comment - that is one thing we took away from the organization - being brothers and sisters or fellow human beings who sometimes need extra help from each other. Definitely I've found this is practiced more on the outside then in w/o the backbiting and judging.

Hi, everyone. I'm sorry not to have posted updates for a couple of days. There have been some changes, one big unexpected one mostly, which have left me suprised and confused. I'm a bit stunned and overwhelmed. I suppose if I can get my bearings, I will post what I can about it. My nerves are kind of shot, just taking care of people and not having any time just for me to sort things out and even begin to know how I want things to go, it's a supreme challenge.

Please know that we all appreciate your support in all the ways you are giving it. I'm sure I'd be a complete basket case if it weren't for all of you. Blessings to all of you from all of us.
