I stood next to Adam West while a makeup person was powdering his nose for a camera shot. That was at Disneyland about 20 years ago. I saw Robert Urich many times filming Spencer for hire in Boston. I was grocery shopping one day and I went to checkout in the 12 items or less ailse and Jeffery Jones was standing right in front of me. This was in Peabody, Mass. I said hello Mr Jones and he put a finger over his lips and went shhh. Turns out he was in the area for Haunted happenings in Salem, Mass. In the 80s I serviced burgular alarms and one night I was called to a home for service and Ted Kennedy's wife was there. Two weeks later it was headline news that she was having an affair with the man who owned the home.

At another Marriott, in Boston, I went up to a guy and said, "Did anyone ever tell you that you looked like Evander Holyfield?" He looked at me with a half smile and said, "I AM Evander Holyfield". I was embarrassed but when I watched HIM dance, I felt bad for HIM.

I also got to meet Richard Dreyfuss there too. He was sitting with his wife and another couple. I told him he was one of my favorite actors.....(Minimus the Brownnoser).

Several dozen and very frequently. In fact, high status celebrities that usually nobody can get near them.

Madonna, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Paul McCartney, Tom Cruise...etc.

Many bands: Guns n' Roses, Metallica, Rolling Stones, REM, U2...etc.

It was all job related. I worked for many years in an industry where such ones needed to transport themselves to various locations domestically and internationally. In all honestly, after awhile they aren't such a big deal anymore. Maybe at the beginning. But after that, they are just regular people who don't seem NOTHING like they are portrayed in the tabloids.

I've met Richard Petty.I got my picture taken with him, thanked him, and walked away.

I saw JayZ coming out of the 41-40 club in NYC once, but we didn't speak. Its cool though- game recognizes game.

Everyone else who is "famous" that I've met is mostly from the body mod subculture, and therefore not that interesting... but Fakir Musafar, the Lizardman, Enigma, and Stalking Cat.

By the way, from personal experience the nicest celebrity I ever met was Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins, Sound of Music). She is very humble, classy and charming. Shared some time with her while drinking Ginger Ale before her scheduled departure.

When I lived in California I worked in an art gallery in Westwood and one in Beverly Hills. I dealt with many celebrities over a period of 10 years.

Some of these were chatty and interesting. Others were just plain weird or spooky. Others I couldn't get myself to say one word to.

    Among these famous faces:

Dustin Hoffman, Peggy Lee, Bo Derek & John Derek, Amy Irving, Tim Conway, Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Barbara Carrera, Rhonda Fleming, Neil Simon, Carl Reiner, Jon Voigt, Donald Sutherland, Karl Malden, Steven Spielberg, Tobe Hooper, George Lucas, John Travolta.

Earlier in life, at publicity tours for films I saw John Wayne (6'6'' tall!!), Tarzan Jock Mahoney (Sally Field's real life dad), the Lone Ranger (Clayton Moore).

The thrill of them all, however, was meeting my favorite composers (for film) in 1977: John Barry, Miklos Rosza, Jerry Fielding, Fred Steiner, David Shire, David Raksin.

    Do NASCAR drivers count?

I've met Dale Earnhardt Sr., Richard Petty, Kyle Petty, Richard Childress, Ned Jarret and several more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

I know several musicians and have met several more from regionally popular bands.

I've run into Tim Duncan a time or two but never spoke to him. Met a couple of players from the Stanley Cup winning Carolina Hurricanes.

Sat next to Arnold Palmer in a bar one time. Got his autograph on a bar napkin.

I worked as a volunteer at a celebrity charity golf tournament one time and got to meet all the celebrities and shake their hands as they came to the green where I was tending the pin. One of the biggest celebrities in the tourney, for our area anyway, was Michael Jordan. And Catherine Crosby, the widow of Bing Crosby. Oh yeah, Bob Hope was there too. I remember Joe Thiesman and Lawrence Taylor were there as well. The other celebrities were soap opera stars or radio personalities, a few minor movie actors and some has-been actors.

That reminds me...I bumped into David Morse in a Vegas casino...literally. He came around the corner as I was going around the same corner in the opposite direction and we collided. He apologized and I apologized and then I realized who he was. He saw that I recognized him and he moved on before I could say anything else.

Face to face I've seen Christian Slater, Balthazar Getty, Kiefer Sutherland and Lou Diamond Phillips (most impressive).
I've met and worked for a couple of years with Josh Brolin, Stephen Baldwin, Anthony Zerbe, Ty Miller and several others maybe not as well known, from The Young Riders TV series.
Add Paolo Nutini who I saw up front at his concert recently and was right next to him back stage afterwords when he was signing autographs and taking pictures... what a cutie ;-)
