i've applied to be reinstatement in a new city after attending meetings for a bit.
i wrote my letter and they heard my case.
they were very helpful.
A brother I used to know was df'ed for something back in the 50's, that in the 60's changed, but the df'ing congregation would not reinstate him. In the 70's, he packed and went to Brooklyn, and came back, with a letter, saying to treat him as if he had never been df'ed in the first place. That the original issue had been a oversight on the wt's part dealing with reasons to be df'ed back in the 50's.

the recent circuit assembly day cost get this... $17,0000 in an assembly hall that they own!
this was announced during the assmbly at the 3/4 mark of days activities.
after he said how much the assembly cost, he then proceeded to say that we have recieved $6,000 in donations up to this point of the day.
Years ago the monthly accounts report went into detail, not just a 30 second recap. And the simi annual audit was too. The came an km with a question box (it may have just been a letter) saying that we all could trust the appointed brothers to take care of things, without being questioned, and from then on, it was only to be a quick summary of the report. Seems it also talked about how much time wss wasted thst could be better used!

my wife (a blonde) told this one to our son and i yesterday, knowing we'd find it really funny.. .

My poor mom in law, (a very wonder person) was saying today how she had always wondered hiw the work was going to be done in China, and other countries like it. Then she said thst jw.borg was taking care if all of that. She got pretty upset, when I pointed out, that less than 1 in 4 have access to the Internet, (last info I heard on that) and thst India was pretty clise to thst as well!

this summer i saw on the bulletin board of a specific kh a strange letter, the info of which i'd like to share with you.. it came not from the gb or the branch office, but from the local evangelizers school.
what it said was roughly this:.

They sent letters not to long ago, with instructions to clean out older publication. Along with it was an approved publications list, of what should be on hand!

every time i see this new "logo", jw.org, i'm taken back to the days in the late 60's and early 70's when we used to put a watchtower in the rear window of our cars when on the way to our vacation..er, i mean, the district convention (that's what they called it back then).
then, some years later we were "admonished" to not put the watchtower in the rear window of our cars while on the way to the dc.. how long before they council the "friends" to not bring "undo" attention to the organization?.

I so remember those days. Sometimes we would have a small convoy of jw's traveling together. And if one pulled off, the others would follow, just in case there was a problem of some kind. I remember once getting to ride with another family, because they had 2 boys my age, and there sister rode in my car with my family and sister!

well the court is a part of the political system, and even more so when it comes to dealing with law's.
Yes there is!! I have a long time friend in the legal dept. A few times over the years, he has told me stuff that just blew my mind. but like everything else, I just tucked it away, like all good little jw's!!

Well the court is a part of the political system, and even more so when it comes to dealing with law's. Courts in the US aren't supposed to write law's but do so anyway!
At the summer RC/DC/IC whatever they want to call it. We were told not to even get upset or excited, over laws that could or would impact or lives, for the good or bad. Because that was taking sides in Politics!!
Another case of do as i say, not as I do!!!!

i haven't heard a peep about the 2014 annual meeting being shown worldwide (or at least across north america) like it was last year.
they made a big deal with the am last year, congs had to get the projectors and screens for the showing, and we were told in advance of the time and location to attend.
but i have heard absolutely nothing this year, at least here in canada.
The branch visit is being streamed to all KH's that are set up for it. If there's anything big coming, it maybe announced then!
