  Is It Possible? Are They Retiring To Warwick?

  i'm not making a bold assertion here, just pursuing an idea.

  what would have to happen to prove that the watchtower is probably "packing it up", conceding the field, retiring to their new headquarters in senescent peace?.

  the dramatic changes we have observed are mostly motivated by money or legal concerns - but not all, as with cutting back on meetings.. you could reasonably have an old guard that still fanatically hopes for armageddon, any day now, while younger men keep their doubts private.

  Who said the cutting back on meetings doesn't have to do with economic reasons?

  More meetings means more expenses for the KH and more personal expenses for the members to go/return from meetings. This means less contributions in the box.

  The cut of book study in 2009 and the just-announced cut on CO-visit meetings is to be viewed in the general consolidation plan that is going on in the last few years. Every organizational change (and not only organizational) in the WT-Land, especially since 2008 (start of world economic crisis), has to do with money. EVERYTHING.

  yup, the apostate is happy.

  i shouldn't be, right, because my life is empty without "jehovah" and the organisation.. but i just got a job at one of the best theme parks in the world, which is so what i want to do, and it's the first permanent job i've had since i lost my government job in 2012!.

  the job pays minimum wage but i don't care because working in tourism and entertainment is what i want to do!

  ELDER BOOK to be HANDED OVER to Min.of Justice (FINLAND)

  jehovah's witnesses to hand over top-secret manualon friday finland's jehovah's witnesses will give their religious rule book to the minister of justice and the minister of the interior so that it can be inspected to ensure that it's in line with finnish rule of law.

  Come on guys, this is good news as it is!

  Even without the handwritten notes, the Shepherd book is a *piece of art* in its own right. Let them send a blank copy; no problem. When the minister reads it, I'm sure she'll be shocked and appalled.

  I've known and used this book (and the old one) in various occasions (if you know what I mean). Especially the part which describes the judicial procedure, is bound to give the minister the chills. It is Maleus Maleficarum of the 21st century. No handwritten notes are needed. IF it reaches the minister's hands indeed, and she reads it, she will know exactly what to do. But that's a big ''IF'' there: we don't know yet the outcome of this effort. Let's not be too optimistic, the WTS has survived through harsher inquiries.

  CO Special Meeting with MS & Elders

  when the co visits a cognregation this semester, a special meeting with elders and mss is sceduled tuesday night, right after the normal meeting.

  does anyone know what this meeting is about?

  this special meeting is held at the beginning of the co-week, and is different from the standard meeting with personnel which is held friday evening.

  This special meeting is held at the beginning of the CO-week, and is different from the standard meeting with personnel which is held Friday evening. Also, it is the first time (as long as I remember) that something like this happens. So, there must be an interesting reason for this.

  Blondie, you quoted some directives which you well know that can easily be discarded and replaced with new ones. In fact, this happens all the time. "This letter to BOE replaces the previous letter of dd/mm/yy. The previous letter should be removed from the cong's archive and be destroyed" ---> This is the most usual opening line of a BOE letter!

  So, yes, I think nothing is impossible for the G7; the jw.borg logo in front of KHs is a very possible scenario.

  This is a HEAVY change folks!

  First, it really upgrades the role of COs. Simultaneously, it downgrades the significance of the privilage per se; I mean, it's different being appointed by the Branch Committe itself and being appointed by a Jon Doe Circuit overseer.

  Apart from that, the game changes with respect to appointments/deletions: The Branch office was detached from the persons in question so it could give a 'objective' appointment/deletion. Now, it's all up to the CO, who personally knows the individual and may even be best friends, or worst enemies, with him!

  A personal example: When I was due to be deleted, both the BOE and especially the CO did not wish my deletion. But the Branch office took the matter in their own hands and chopped my head in an istant. So, if that adjustment was in force back then, I would now still be an elder. (which would be for the worse, now that I think of it)

  i think next year they will have the memorial at a larger event space like where they held their circuit assemblies.

  i noticed each first congregation at each kingdom hall has to leave immediately because each 2nd congregation is coming afterwards.

  the first congregation does not really have the time to greet new people after the memorial.

  It's not the same as with assemblies.

  Bear in mind that assemblies aim almost exclusively at JWs, while the memorial aims at the public. It is the only event which is observed by lots of non-jws.

  So, while it is natural to drag jws to WTS-owned assembly halls, it is not easy to drag the general public in a jw-owned construction.

  That's why many congs try to throw the memorial at a 'neutral', and if possible luxurious place, such as a hotel conference hall.

  So, yes, maybe they will start to hold bigger memorials, but still, not in assembly halls, I think.

  Except if the memorial attendance drops at such low levels, that will degrade it to a mainly jw-aimed event, like assemblies.
