Is It Possible? Are They Retiring To Warwick?

I'm not making a bold assertion here, just pursuing an idea. What would have to happen to prove that the Watchtower is probably "packing it up", conceding the field, retiring to their new headquarters in senescent peace?

The dramatic changes we have observed are mostly motivated by money or legal concerns - but not all, as with cutting back on meetings.

You could reasonably have an old guard that still fanatically hopes for Armageddon, any day now, while younger men keep their doubts private. You could even have a "toddler tantrum" from time to time - in which loud complaint and demands are made by the Governing Body, only to be suddenly followed by a sudden collapse into slumber (as young kids are wont to do before a bedtime they object to).

There could be factions still holding on, while others just say, 'well, what can you do?'

Are they collectively giving up? Getting bored with it all? Feeling the burden of one failure after another? Now just 'phoning it in'? Creating superficial attempts to be relevant in a digital future?

You can't stay on autopilot forever. An ever changing world won't allow it.

The new Donation "arrangement" (scam) ensures a constant income stream which will not vary much year on year. A great retirement income.

They will use some of this income to build more K.Halls sure, but we know that too is to ensure future income, even poor 3rd World Congregations will be sending donations in perpetuity. And their K.H's only cost a few thousand to build.

WB&$ Society. $ being the important part to them.

Of course it's their retirement home. We knew this all along. But they won't pack up the WT shop, they need their income from donations.

Who ever works the hardest and self promotes will be next in line for luxury WT retirement. Have you seen the Welsh Translation Office, that also looks like someones retirement home. Kate xx

So will they sell off Wallkill (Pinebush), the property down by NJ, and Patterson?

They no longer grow food, raise cattle, plant fields/gardens...........and buy food because it's cheaper even with "free" labor.

Better technology requires less paper, less ink, faster printing, layouts shipped electronically to fewer printing sites...hmmm

    Less staff required.........

Now that the WTS has extended the lifeline of the anointed/FDS/GB with overlapping they have to consolidate. based on this new extension, could the WTS last another 100 years, past the lifetime of those who remember all the "changes." I knew little about the details of CTR, Rutherford, original meanings of 1874/1914, 1878/1914, 1925....few jws I knew from that period were alive. As the WTS reinvents its past children of jws today, will only remember what the WTS chooses to discuss, picking out the "facts" they paint them as they wish to be.

I makes me think of the science fiction books I read about religions on earth that left on spaceships and had to adjust their theology.

Which is exactly why the information available to current JWs on jw.org only goes back to 2000 and why the WTBTS constantly demonizes any information about JWs from any other source.

INFORMATION CONTROL. It's one of the most notable hallmarks of a cult.

    • Those who control the information control the person. In a mind control cult any information from outside the cult is considered evil, especially if it is opposing the cult. Members are told not to read it or believe it. Only information supplied by the cult is true. One cult labels any information against it as “persecution” or “spiritual pornography”, another cult calls it “apostate literature” and will expel you from the group if you are caught with it. Cults train their members to instantly destroy any critical information given to them, and to not even entertain the thought that the information could be true. - CultWatch.com

Even if only 7 million of the ("almost 8 Million") publishers worldwide were to donate a max $20 US per month, the ORG would be taking in $140M PER MONTH. That would be around 1.6BILLION us Dollars ANNUALLY.

Ever heard of Bernie Madoff? I'm thinking this could be one of THOSE situations. Whoever's running things will be PAID.

Everything they are doing points toward a business doing what it has to do to survive. Cut mags.. cut assembly days .. cut DO..sell property..institute mandatory donations.

Print is dead. That was their old model. Real estate will never die. That is the new model.
