Well BethSarim Is My Name, I have a friend here in Australia with a strikingly similar experience. What ever got you outta there is your saviour be it emotional strength or simply resolve to do better or human endeavour. Call it what you will. Some do call it jesus, allah, yahweh, etal. Importantly, you need a trusted friend. Whomsoever that may be.

I'm happy to hear you have torn away from the jw falsity. Your evaluation of elder qualifications is right on the money,,,,,,brain dead comes to mind.

Well done. Enjoy your life and persue all of your visions of happiness.

I'm not alone in the congregation, after all

i can now say that i'm not alone to know ttatt in my congregation, after all.. i have come to know that my close friend is awake, even without me sharing the ttatt with him/her.

on one of our recent conversations i mentioned about being tired and no longer being uplifted anymore, and my friend then told me he/she was feeling the same.

i don't know how it happened but we knew we could trust each other.

Did you actually read the bible end to end?

in my ten years as a witness i never read the whole bible end to end, what with four magazines a month, the book study, meetings and talk preparations, there just wasn’t the time.

i knew all the important references to ‘prove’ the various jw doctrines, and the cherry picked chapters that help foster the idea that it’s a good book, but that’s not reading it.

well after nearly forty years out, i decided i would do it.

Right on the money Blondie. As I returned (my mistake but I'm working on it) I decided to read it contextually from cover to cover. That instance was my first light bulb moment and then I applied critical thinking to the rest of it and was astounded at the various possible translations of the lost language. Comparing various translations is invaluable to uncovering the deceit of the wbts and most likely others trying to push their wheelbarrow of reasoning. Likely then, the credibility of Christianity in general is up for questioning too.

And thank you for all the most informative posts that you provided over the years and for the time I have been here.

Letter to my sons, why I left WT -- 1975 and lies were reasons

several months ago i wrote a letter to two of my sons, still jw.

the letter is 41 years belated.

i am now 78 years old so this was a bucket list item.

I also survived the early days bullshit and left then returned some 30 odd years later only to find, after four years that NOTHING has changed. The judgemental mental attitude is, in my opinion, more prevalent and sinister than ever. Hence my mission to fade with the friends I have made. They see it too and are disturbed, as they should be. My thanks to you for this post as it's helping in my mission. My heart goes out to your situation. Keep up the good work that you do daily.
