  Arguments I’ve Had: Historical Accuracy and the Bible

  when i was a jw and still living with my parents i remember the way my father held what could almost be described as contempt for archeologists, paleontologists, and other scientists who dared to try explain what happened in past.

  he justified this attidtude with the argument that these people don’t have enough evidence to make such claims with any certainty.

  however, i see now that his viewpoint was more likely a defense mechanism to protect his presupposed conclusion that everything described in the bible actually happened.

  Two elders came to my home recently to revive me up.

  It started with Noah’s flood. They argued it was true

  I asked them "If Noah’s flood is true, why don’t any of the Science channels today authorize that such a world wide event happened"

  Their reply. "All Science channels are against the Bible"

  What else to argue with these “Self Deluded, heads buried in the sand” zombies

  How were God’s true worshipers to determine virginity of pagan girls?

  in the genocidal instructions supposedly given by god we find this interesting command: “now kill all the boys.

  and kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.” (numbers 31:17, 18).

  in the midst of killing and plundering, how were the israelites to determine whether each girl “has slept with a man” or not?.

  I was never shown these type of verses during my Bible study, nor in my Sunday Schools.

  Perhaps their reply would be:
  

  Only the Bible is true out of all religious books and only JWs use god’s name out of those 32K Christian Denominations.

  Perhaps we can ask them: “Really, and this Almighty god of yours, who kills a man instantly for preventing the ark from tumbling down, didnt do anything when his Holy name was taken out of his Holy book and remains silent for 1875 years, until CT Russell came to restore it."

  When 999 religions out of 1000 are false, why cant we scrutinise that one one "True" religion with the same criteria as you did for those false ones ?

  Why are they announcing 2019 conventions so early?

  i was just told there will be international conventions in canada in 2019. .

  so i looked at jw.org and i see that there's a whole bunch of conventions now listed on the site for 2019.. isn't this odd?

  normally we were told the location of conventions during the first week of january.. did they realize there was less in attendance in the 2018 conventions, and want to give ppl more time to make travel arrangements??

  May be Armeggadon is planned for 2020. So save as much people by bringing them to the 2019 conventions.

  hello, recently, i talked with the witness of the united states.

  "jehovah's witnesses" in the united nations.

  as far as i understand, the organization had to fully accept the un charter and cooperate with the un.the jehovah's witness replied to me that there is no contradiction in this.he said that witnesses are allowed to apply, for example, to courts or other organizations for help.when i told him that the organization is participating in the osce, he is said to be normal too.he said that they are not affected.

  such as on blood, beards, abortion, tattoos, etc.

  surely if the mosaic law code was nailed to the torture stake all of its parts were cancelled.

  Jesus never said to write anything down because that wasn't the media 2 thousand years ago. Most people couldn't read even 200years ago, jeshe...Only a limited few could read and/or write.

  So the most important person in the universe, while on the most important mission, never wrote down anything nor left any tangible evidence of his existence and miracles. Faith is Awesome !!

  How can we leave Jehovah?

  the jdubs talk about their loved ones or friends leaving jehovah.

  how can one leave some one who they never saw, some one who is invisible or some one who never talked to them.. what they mean is they no longer obey the borg so the borg is the same as jehovah.. long live the 8 self licking ice cream popes!!

  Is Jesus and Michael the Archangel the same person?

  the jehovah's witnesses believe that jesus christ and michael the archangel are the same person, and blatently ignore numerous verses and passages within scripture which explain that both jesus and michael are two separate persons.this video study (linked below) goes into the intricacies of hebrews chapters 1+2 explaining how the lord jesus and michael are different persons, and looks at the qualities, authority and power at which the lord jesus holds and how it is separate from angels including michael the archangel..
