  i don't know how the fellow who made the resolution from stage to send 80% of the congregation funds to the indian branch as an outright donation made it with a straight face.

  Is there any problem for convertible rate between USD and rupee? Investors got burned in the last 18 months with many foreigner currencies weakened by 20-30%. WT could behave economically. While India is considered the best performing country of BRIC, there is a risk of weakening currencies in relationship to mighty dollar.

  My Experience with Wordly Guys

  sorry, two posts in a day..but i need to vent something: so far my experience with "worldly" guys has not been the best 1. my first guy experience was with a dude who left state and never came back 2. a coworker asked me to netflix and chill and i did 3. a guy wanted to sext me all the time but never took me out on a date and i did 4. a guy who took me on a great date but then asked me up to his apartment immediately after and then didn't call me after 5. finally, another great date, until after the guy texted me asking for nude pics..told him no!

  so basically i've concluded that i had been giving off a vibe that i had no self respect and that was confirmed by me allowing them to use me as a sex object..but i'm hoping that not all worldly guys are like this, and when i start acting like i have self respect, they will treat me like that too?

  is that a good assumption?

  You are just in the process to find the right match and you have a very little experience with interacting with non-JW men. It will take a time to understand the vibes, interests, intentions, and outcome. This does not show naturally in first date or first interraction.

  my family has been jehovah witnesses for two genorations since de first missionaries came to de village many moons ago.

  You people in your rich countries no not de strugle of de people of my village. You must help us in our fight against de rebels.

  Many people in so called rich countries are not that rich. They are not extremely poor on African standard, but there is a huge mass of people who do not have any savings, and lives from paycheck to paycheck. Many immigrants from 3rd world became extremely disillusioned, when they find themselves in the same poverty level they tried to escape.

  Is dis true what you say Clambake, will we get no help from de watchtower?

  Hell will freeze before you will see any help from WT. JWs did not get help even in wealthier countries under war like in Yugoslavia. 20 years ago a shell landed in front of KH in Sarajevo, Bosnia, killing several JWs including children and they were paraded as martyr. They were not even evacuated from city under the siege, while many religious groups put tremendous effort to evacuate their brethren.

  What's the status of this org financially?

  soooo... i think the main strength of this group is having the finances to keep this con game going.

  i'm hoping that the pedophilia cases are draining them dry so we can be rid of this stumbling block from an organizational stand point.

  how is the constant surge of bad news getting out on them effecting the everyday person in this organization?

  WT is not charity, and they will not deplete their money, funds, and property to zero. It is a business model that survived for 100+ years. I will still see that current money issues will cause a major shakedown in the organization and removal of people who pursue obsolete Knorr business model of WT organization. I do not think WT will disappear in anyone on JWN lives.

  The really cool feeling of community within JWs

  i remember going out with other jws after the memorial.. small gatherings.. picnics at some local landmark.. the feeling of closeness, camaraderie, friendship with like minded people you could trust.. haven't experienced it since i left.. really miss that..

  I never had experienced it. While we had some close friends, it was always a case of individuals, not of the WT society. I have seen WT dying and passing away due suicide, accidents, and old age, and many behaved like these people have not existed.

  What did you have for Christmas dinner?

  my inlaws are polish, though my husband is a 3rd generation american, but the food traditions have stuck around.. we have christmas eve dinner starting with red beet soup with sour cream, pierogies filled with mashed potatoes or saurkraut, ham, polish sausage sliced and cooked with saurkraut, turkey (that part is american), krischickies (likely spelled wrong) which are crispy pastries dipped in powdered sugar, and apple pie (also american.).

  there are goodnatured threats toward bad children who may need to get their dupa busted (butt spanked) and therefore santa will bring figismachen.

  i also love golabkis (ground beef and rice wrapped in cabbage leaves), but these were not served this time.

  My in-laws are mostly Jewish. We usually go to see relatives who do huge cookout with various dishes. This Xmas we had filet mignon and bunch of side dishes. In Czech they usually make a carp with potato salad. My grandma used to bake a duck or geese for Xmas, stuffed with apples and served with sauerkraut and potato dumplings.

  I talk to my family regularly, and my mom is generous donor for past 40+years. I do not control her finances, so it is her money. But both my parents and siblings think that WT money are gone as someone had drained the finances. Local WT had sufficient funds for its maintenance and other expenses, but these funds were looted out/transferred to HQ two years ago. Now, they elders are visiting people and asking for contribution. Last month one of the elder harassed my mom for contribution. She was in surgery and she was not going to KH for six week or so due complication, and she did not donate. One of the elderly woman in my mom's KH sold her house, and donated the money to WT and moved to public nursing home/elderly community home. Either way, WT is somewhere bleeding; its operations are too costly, or their financial portfolio is not doing well. One of the problem I would see that the Global Recession of 2008-2013 is finally catching out with them with shrinking donations, and higher operational costs.

  Elder harassed my mom and asked for donation

  my mom had surgery last month and she developed complication and had to be on antibiotics to treat infection.

  so, she is recovering slowly, but things was tough on her and she was not attending kh or went to assembly two weeks ago.

  nonetheless, elder showed up at her place and instead providing her with comfort he started to harass her that her faith is weak, she does not put trust in jah, etc.

  So, my mom is now attending with the family even if they have to travel and pick her up. I talked to my sibling and everyone was pretending like nothing had happened. But damn, my mom continue donating again.

  1. Renew a gym membership. I used to be in excellent shape and run up to 20 miles per day. I was capable to bench press my own weight. However, school and work killed my free time. I will be done next spring, so it is time to go back to gym.
  2. Travel a bit more. There are couple places I would like to visit next year.
     
  3. Get use of my xbox and ps4
  4. Renovate either bathroom or kitchen. I am putting it off for a while.

  The worst gift of Christmas

  everybody gets one, the gift that stared up at you hopefully from its beautiful wrapping, and then, like a deflated balloon, delivers the worst gift ever.. i'm not talking about the gifts from small children like the "greatest aunt" coffee mug or the red and black lace folding fan.

  surely you never would have chosen them for yourself, but it's the thought that counts from small people who love you.. then, there's the what the hell were they thinking gifts.

  my mother-in-law has been giving these a lot lately.
