Kingdom Hall sales - A question?
by no-zombie ina little while ago, comments appeared here about the sale of about 3000 halls and an american boe letter sent discussing a while sweeping congregational reorganization.
does anyone here have a copy of that letter or written proof of plan to downsize, that they are willing to share?.

Could you really trust the Governing Body to the right thing?
by no-zombie inover the years, many have speculated on how the governing body might reform the society into something that might actually bring some positivity in to the world ... and a resent melancholy moment, i re-watched the youtube clip of usa for africa's, 'we are the world' which was released in 1985. now while i know our men in warwick would never actually consider organizing the brotherhood to do something completely selfless in helping the truly worldly poor, something that would actually improve the religion's reputation ... but the question is ... could you really trust the governing body to run an aid program like usa for africa or band aid, without skimming from the top?.

A question regarding RC/DC changes
by no-zombie inwith the rumored changes or deletion of the regional/district conventions ... does anyone know if the organization will cancel them all together or just reduce their duration from 3 to 2 days, so they can be slotted into local assembly halls easier?.

The problem of being (or wanting be to) an Ex-Muslin
by no-zombie ini just finished reading a long article about the young people wanting to break free of islam in australia and the problems they face in leaving their high control religion.
the similarities between us and them is quite clear, as is how they woke up.
it's worth a read.. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-06-09/double-lives:-the-secret-ex-muslim-network-in-australia/9811340.

Pseudonyms
by no-zombie inone of this things that constantly reminds me of the extent and the reach the organization has into our lives, is the fact we all need pseudonyms to have a conversation or to make a comment in this even here in this place.
even when people have left the society (by however it has occurred), its rare to see somebody change their online presence to their personal name.. now i'm not expecting people to do that of course, fore we are all free to do what we like (which is the real beauty of this forum) but the fact that it doesn't occur that often, shows how much we've all been effected by being told over and over again, "not to be critical of god's organization".
of course there could be an number so side issues at play here; with some people not wanting to burn their bridges in an attempt to keep what reputation they have left intact and sadly a small minority others, do enjoy the anonymity to just talk trash ... but if a person can not feel free to stand up and respectfully make a critical comment or ask a thorny question without fear of repercussion from their religion, then doesn't it show that there is no real freedom in that faith.

Public Talk quote
by no-zombie indoes anyone who has access to the collection of public talk outlines, and remember the quote "half the world's scientist work on weapons of war" (or words to that effect)?
i used to have them myself, but sadly they are gone.
i'd like to follow that quote back to its original source if i can.

Worldy governments and the WTBTS are closer than most think
by no-zombie inevery day i read the web log of generational dynamics.
it a political/current affairs commentary, which over the years has proved to be quite insightful.
however, today's commentary (for the 23rd) is quite relevant for witnesses and i encourage you to have a look at it, if you have a few minutes.

What is you 'red line'?
by no-zombie intoday we hear a lot about red lines in political commentaries these days.
but for those of us who are pimos, what be your red line?
what would be the doctrinal change or event that would tip you over the edge into leaving for good, regardless of the repercussions?

Gradualism for the blood doctrine?
by no-zombie inhere in australia, during the service meeting this week, the local needs part was taken up to quickly discuss a letter from the organization stating that there will no longer be a annual meeting part to discuss or remind the congregations about their blood cards.. i found this quite odd.. its not like that there is a shortage of meeting time to discuss this issue, as the society has recently been hijacking more and more local needs parts for its own messages.
and for a supposedly important doctrine, you would think that it should be mentioned more often rather than less, to keep everyone in line.. could this be a beginning of the movement away from the blood doctrine, through the process of gradualism?.

the 2018 Annual Report
by no-zombie ini have a bad feeling that the annual report in the form that we can analytically use, will no longer be available.
according the post agm letter, it said "this information will be published in the 'about us' section of jw.org" however when you go to that page, there are already a country by country listing of statistics.
the problem is that, the numbers displayed at the moment are not the whole story we used to get.
