Pet owners update: What would you pay?
by frozen one ini had my cat put to sleep this morning.
he had really gone down hill overnight.
i asked the vet if she thought the catheter breaking was not preventable.

What would I pay? For my dog. Too damn much. The guy relies on me to protect him and provide for him in this world. What would it cost to not have a guilty conscience and my dog? That's what I would pay.

Operation Tomorrow
by Sunspot injust to let you all know why i won't be able to post for some time...i am finally getting in to the hospital for a much-needed operation that kept being postponed.
i have been back and forth to three different hospitals and various doctor's offices for tests, x-rays, consults and then more pre-op tests and x-rays.
(i have never heard of "nuclear testing before now...i wondered if they were going to send me to nasa!

Pictures...Of Our New Home
by Legolas inhere is a few pics of our home...they are not very good though ...lol...i don't have any pictures up yet, most of my plants are setting on my table (still), some stuff is still out in the moving van and our grass is not in and garage is not built (the cut lumber in our yard is going to be milled and used for our deck and garage)!

Sorry, another 607 question? I'm confused.

i thought they based the chronology on when jerusalem was destroyed.
however, the following is taken from the daniel book and it seems to base it on something else.

Scholar in the past you have frequently brought up the difficulty of secular data as pinpointing the Fall of Jerusalem to either 586 or 587 as being some sort of actual proof that secular dating is totally incorrect and that since it can't be termined whether it's 586 or 587 that it's all wrong. Also in the past you have stated that it then adds weight to the theory presented by the WT for 607 - as it pinpoints a year.
What do you think about the FACT that until a late date that the WT taught the Fall of Jerusalem took place in 606? In a similar vein of reasoning does not that invalidate the dating system of "celebrated WT scholars" due to wavering from 606 to 607? Which is it and why did "celebrated WT scholars" change it?
Naturally I don't expect that you will or can answer this. -

Love is eroding away in the Congo, why?
by thecarpenter inwhen i first started studying with the jehovah witnesses, although i am a technical, matter of fact type of guy, the thing that got my attention was the genuine love i saw in the congregation (this was in the early 80's).
it made such a impression on me that i ignored some of the serious questions i had about the organization and went ahead and got baptized (i figured things would get sorted out over time and decided to give the society the benefit of the doubt) .
the congregation i went to was a fireball, full of activity and good works and growing fast.

Good observations. I used to refer to some on the Elder Body as Corporate Elders.
Fact is - people imitate the god they worship - thus the lack of love, esp on the Elders part. The WT is a loveless god.
