Thanks for both this new and the old post. How ready faithful borg members are to admit in general terms that the organization is imperfect. But don't ever ask for specifics, examples of such imperfection, and most of all, in what ways they are wrong today. You will certainly be shot!
How different from the New Testament where Paul reproves Peter before them all and then reports it in a letter to the R&F in Galatia! Coud you imagine the borg following the Bible in that? HA!——yes, it could only happen via imagination!
this is true everywhere but it seems especially true with the witnesses.
they seem to feel that since god forgives them, you should too, so you end up with these pathologically rude, crude people.. "get over it" is what my wife says if i tell her about some incident where i couldn't believe my ears.
but i have to remind myself that she is also like that.. but she's right, too, because who wants to spend the rest of their life as a victim?

One of their fairly new teachings contains the germ that would undo their insistence on recognizing the GB as essential. According to their current interpretation of the sheep and goats parable, those who are sheep are NOT the great crowd. Therefore, those sheep are given life without recognizing who Jesus Christ's brothers are and joining the borg (even as the gospel of Matt so reads).
Maybe they should have stuck with the old Feddie Franz interpretation, as anti-contextal as it was. At least it kept the you've-got-to-be-in-the-ark view. As somebody here noted in a different thread, this current sheep and goats parable interpretation has opened up a potential can of worms...

They are considered so holy that many of the R&F would give them personal gifts to an extent even greater than they do now. Got to be nice to Christ's brothers!

This member was DFed and wanted back in the borg. He fessed up to the BOE/his JC that he'd been on this website as a member. Or somebody found about his coming here and turned the poor schmuck in, a JC was formed, and they threatened to DF him. in In order to prove that he was repentant they ordered him to cut his ties and send such a message.
When I was in, 'worldly' people converting had to write a letter to the church they grew up in, severing their ties officially (I always thought it was more of a 'give them a witness' thing, but 'getting out of Babylon' was the reason the borg gave). This looks similar and we all can just imagine that a JC would lay such a command on some poor guy wanting back in, or who's been caught looking, right?
