New Trend in Dramas?
by breakfast of champions inso it used to be that all dramas were ot.
period, that was it.. then they started incorporating a "modern day" application of the ot drama where actors in the present day reflected on the story.. then they started using some highly fictionalized nt characters in dramas (never jesus of course).
in the past few years we've been getting more "modern dramas", just about people in the present dealing with their "problems".

In other words, are they trying to prepare the R&F for what they now see as likely (or even inevitable?)—that the govt. IS going to crack down on them b/c of their child abuse policies? Are they even now believing that this act would precipitate Armageddon??

The elders have been trained to distinguish between outright "rebellion," saying the FDS is/are not God's sole mouthpiece, and those who have doubts (on the basis of the passage "continue to show mercy to those who have doubts"). You could always just say' "I'm not sure any more. I have some doubts. I guess I let myself become spritually weak." Playing the doubter-weakness card can buy you some time, at least.

i asked him what he meant by that and he said because i "really care about the older ones in the congregation".
he went on to say that the elders and pioneers are so busy, they have to "get their time in the field service", no time left to check on the the older ones.
