NFL bans Player for using a 'switch' on his son
by designs innfl commissioner roger goodell placed minnesota viking's player adrian peterson on indefinite suspension for using extreme measures in disciplining his son using a tree branch switch.. sports illustrated covered details about how the process works with the players union, the player, and the nfl.. www.si.com/nfl/2014/11/17/minnesota-vikings-adrian-peterson-suspended.
i remember vivid scenes in kingdom halls and in the homes of jws who used extreme measures to discipline their children.

My Wife Takes the "Spiritual Belief System" Quiz
by breakfast of champions inso i asked my wife to take the "spiritual belief system" quiz online.
now, this is not claiming to be a scientifically accurate system to determine your religious affiliation, but i thought it would be an interesting exercise.. for those who haven't seen it, the questionnaire is here:.

Is the WTS effectively 'pimping out' sisters?
by Simon ini can't remember the topic with the discussion about the talk where they suggested that sisters should only consider ministerial servants as potential marriage partners but think about the implications more.. are they trying to use the potential affections of sisters to enourage brothers to do more and work harder?.
isn't this a form of 'pimping out' the sisters by limiting their attention to the people contributing to them?.
it seems to cross a line to me but i guess it's not vastly different to "only marry another jw".. what do you think?.

Inactive ones are bloodguilty?
by dissonance_resolved ini've been thinking about brother morris' statement at the zone meeting this past weekend that inactive ones are bloodguilty.
bloodguilt is defined as "guilty of murder or manslaughter.
" murder is #1 on the list of disfellowshipping offenses- all they would have to do is change the wording from "murder" to "bloodguilt" and suddenly there you have grounds to disfellowship anyone who's inactive.
