When I see the sizing up look that I’m about to be hit up for change I beat them to the punch and ask if they have a dollar I can have. They usually just say sorry no and walk away.

This man and his opinions are his own worst enemy.

How many JW's have donated blood since fractions have been allowed? If they can use the system, can they donate?

My fears of leaving. May or may not be hypothetical
by DS211 inok suppose a man met an inactive jw woman.
started dating, had a child.
and throughout his and her relationship there were many ups and downs, drug issues on the womans part , too much drinking on his, she cheats then they find out they are pregnant and move intogether.

I knew this couple. They needed the rudder. After leaving they are both back on drugs and their kids are living with grandparents. Very sad.

The Total Embracing Of The Internet - How Will It All End?

during that time i completed a successful fade from the organization after almost 40 years being baptized.

Think how easy it will be for them to look up quotes during a talk or a study. Nothing but trouble. They will quickly limit the usage to one site.

QUESTIONS TO ASK JWs
by NAVYTOWN ina good question to ask a jw is: do you follow what the bible teaches or what the watchtower organization says?
then ask them to give you just one example of a doctrine in the bible, that they have ascertained through their individual bible study, that is different from what is taught by the watchtower.
of course, they cannot honestly answer without admitting that they do in fact follow the watchtower and not the actual bible.

Brilliant Navytown. So simple yet you can follow it up with "So 7 million JW's believe the EXACT SAME THING with absolutely ZERO deviation. Drone"

No wonder most of of you guys think us jw's are idiots
by nowwhat? inas a teenager back in the 1970's i once asked the question, how can they declare peace and security if the king of the north [soviet union] is to storm with many chariots?
i got the "what kind of question is that?
" response.. then in the 1980's i said "if it wasn'nt for the 1914 generation dying off, i don't see the slightest indication that babylon the great is going to be destroyed anytime soon.

Social changes are expected when it comes to religion but there really shouldn't be so many doctrinal changes.

Everyone moves at their own speed. Good on him for stopping by. The best is as stated above, keep positive and don’t let anyone drag the conversation in a negative direction. Always say how great you’re doing and when they start talking about how bad things are I always say “I think things are getting better! The only reason they seem to be getting worse is because the media tends TO ONLY WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE NEGATIVE. Negative news sells publications, wouldn’t you agree?” Some get what I’m implying and some don’t but it’s subtle enough to get the point across. Good luck!

The murmuring phase is the beginning of an ex-JWs progression towards fading.
by Stand for Pure Worship ini suppose part of the fascination i have with this board is, the exotic nature of those making up the member population.
i say exotic because, as you yourselves will agree with, folks such as yourselves don't hang around the christian congregation for long upon making the decision that truth is not for you.
(rom 1:25) this "fading" thing spoken of here likely plays a role into why christians such as me find the average ex-jw to be a bit fascinating.

I left for one reason. Science. I remember having a conversation with my aunt once about cave drawings and carbon dating. She of course was able to write it off in her mind as Satan. We went on to other scientific facts in deep discussion and at the end of every line of reasoning she had to insert the supernatural. Delusional. If it quacks and looks like a duck then it’s a duck.

The reason behind why the ex-JW community can never match Jehovah's Witnesses' success.
by Stand for Pure Worship inan average of five kingdom halls being constructed daily, almost 8 million brothers and sisters, dissemination of bible literature in 595 languages, 111,795 congregations worldwide, distribution of 179 million bibles available in 116 languages, 239 countries where jehovah's witnesses have a presence, etc.. need i go on?.
on the other hand........... crisis of conscience, freeminds, the awaa, jw.net, ummmmmm........hmmm........idk six screens or something?
not exactly working out for you guys.

Name a religion or sect on earth that believes what they teach isn’t more correct than another religion or sect. I find religion to be haughty. We know everything…you don’t. That means we’re smarter. Science has never presumed to know everything nor will it ever. It continues to learn and grow while religion remains stagnant in knowledge that was taught several thousands of years ago.
