Fall Fair: Or Pumpkin and Apple fare :o)
by Sunspot ina few miles from our home a fall fair is held every year.
it is held between an apple orchard and a pumpkin farm next to a christmas tree farm.they were having pumpkin tosses, face painting, hay wagon rides, horse and buggy rides, horseback rides, scarecrow building events, apple tasting, wine tasting, cider tasting and events for the little kids to take part in.. there were adorable alpacas that were so cute, and a place where sweaters, hats and scarves made from alpacas could be bought.
there were several goats, and a booth where goat cheese and other edible goodies made with goats milk could be had.

Christmas Ideas & Projects!
by Sunspot inthe talk about christmas has gotten my juices flowing!
i have tons of holiday stuff bookmarked for my own use.....and thought maybe somebody might want to take a peek at a few of these to see what interests them and their families.
i never seem to get tired of looking through pages like these, and have actually made many of the crafts projects over the last seven borg-free years.. hope you can find something you enjoy!

Destroying One's Faith
by Sunspot inthe jws are always grumbling that former jws are trying to "destroy their faith" and that they have nothing nice to say about the men who write for the watchtower or their peculiar teachings.. but then---jws go to people's homes and try to convince them that they should stop:.
praising jesus,.
celebrating or honoring their lord and savior on his resurrection or on his birth,.

My Sister's Visit
by Sunspot inmost of you know that my family disowned me in 1972 when i was baptized into the wts.
i have only one sibling, a kid sister .
i was thrilled, but nervous, not having a clue how things would go and trying to keep in mind all the things i should not say as well as things i was eager to find out about, concerning the rest of the family i have had no contact with.. the moment we laid eyes on each other (and recovered frm the gigundo hug), it all went just great!!!

Length Of WTS Indoctrination Program
by Sunspot ini posted this on another board and got zero replies:.
but i was curious.
when i was in the wts, we were instructed to only allow a person to "study" the wts bible-aids for a period of six months.

Ground Zero
by Sunspot insitting around a campfire last weekend, a few of us were discussing what is "going on" on the rebuilding or the construction of what is being built at ground zero in nyc.. we all agreed that we see nothing on the news....we see nothing in magazines....we hear nothing at all about the progress (or lack of) in whatever was chosen to be built there!
it is as if this never happened.....at least to those of us far beyond walking past the site to actually see what is going on!
(being 400 miles away from nyc!).

A 4th of July Parade
by Sunspot inthis year, my hubby's b.a.s.s club has been invited to be in the parade out by the harbor and going all through the town of oswego, (proudly known as the port city and the gateway to the st lawrence seaway) since i cannot climb up onto the decorated boats that will be displayed....they have invited me (little old me) to ride in one of the trucks that will be towing the boat that hubby will be in.. i know this isn't the most exciting event that most of you will be doing this weekend....but for an old lady that hasn't been allowed to see a july 4th parade for 30 years...it is a bit out of the "ordinary" in my list of things to do, lol!
i am looking forward to just "doing stuff" that ordinary people do in the community.
small as it may seem, it is a huge thing to have the freedom to do so!.

Hardly seems possible!
by Sunspot init was just a year ago today that i went into the hospital for a "quick" thyroid operation at 3:00 pm that i was scheduled to be discharged from early the next morning.
i was looking forward to being out and recovered well enough to go to a big 4th of july bash at my son's home.. i didn't make it to the bash....and i almost didn't "make it" period!
the incision began to bleed in the recovery room, blocked my airway and i stopped breathing.
