Supremes Face Bombshell: Law Censoring Christian Counsellors
by Hecce inwnd exclusive.
supremes face bombshell: law censoring christian.
the u.s. supreme court has been handed a bombshell: an appeal of a lower-court ruling that banned christian counselors from talking with teens about the biblical standard for sexuality.. the case challenges laws that force licensed counselors to affirm homosexuality, prohibiting them from helping clients overcome same-sex attractions.. such laws have been adopted in new jersey, where a biased judge used it to shut down a christian ministry, and in california and other states.. the case already was presented to the supreme court several years ago, but it did not get a ruling.. now a new appeal has been submitted by the pacific justice institute on behalf of two religious leaders in california and a student who was considering going into counseling.. the appeal argues affirmation of the state regulation by the 9th u.s. circuit court of appeals ignored the fact that when lawmakers were arguing over the law, many, if not most, of their comments were specifically about religion and conservatives.. get “takedown,” and learn how the american family and marriage are being sabotaged by the ideas of extreme-left radicals, starting with karl marx.. the appeal contends it’s unconstitutional to base a law on religious or anti-religious viewpoints.. “california’s lawmakers saturated the analyses with references, summations and quotes (at times without attribution) taken directly from the apa report [on counseling to overcome same-sex attractions],” the appeal states.. “a review of the apa report leaves no doubt that religious conservatives are those typically seeking soce [sexual orientation change counseling] – and those whose beliefs the legislature seeks to change.

The disappearance of the Special Committees
by Hecce inas a part of the wt judicial arrangement, for many years there was a sort of review procedure called special committee; basically if a person was not happy with a decision or a particular situation they were allowed to write a letter to the society raisin their concerns.. the majority of these complaints were answered with a standard letter with the counsel of “leave matters to jehovah”.
in some instances the matter was serious enough to warrant the need for a special investigation of the case to be done by a special committee.. at one time the travelling overseers were part of this arrangement; eventually they were dropped out of these cases due to the fact of their tremendous input on the decisions and also the implications when a wrong decision was reached.. the reason behind this procedure was that in matters that were really complicated it was not fair to make a decision based in letters and the clearest way was to have “boots on the ground”.
normally a group of local brothers, appointed for this duty heard the cases and make recommendations to the branch.

The “boldness” of the GB
by Hecce inthis topic is related to the one about the relocation of publishers and moving and dissolving congregations.. some of the things that we are seeing now were unthinkable a few years back, examples the closing of the branches, layoff of bethelites and travelling overseers, the grabbing of the congregations funds and many more.
some of my friends tell me that basically the wt was operating with an early 20th century business model that needed a tune up and that worldly consultants are behind the changes that have been implemented.. nevertheless to put it in hollywood terms, they seem to think that they are on a “mission from god” and that they are “going where no man, has gone before”..

Any news about changes in the Elder’s arrangement?
by Hecce innot based on any major reliable information, just spiritual gossip among some very weak spiritually friends.. since the wt has made monumental changes in personnel, including bethel and cos; some are speculating that eventually there will be a cutback in the number of elders in a congregation and a return to the 1930-1970 servant’s model.. i can see some good reasons for this:.
poor quality among the elders, maybe one or two are really carrying the entire load.
the merging of the congregations will create a glut of elders strange to each other, the more that they have the more conflicts in the making.. the duties of the elders have been decreasing and most of the decisions are made upstairs.. the pre 1970 arrangement worked really well and it will take the wt less than 1-3 to find a biblical basis to bring it back.. friends, just some saturday morning thoughts.. thanks for reading..

As a JW: major personal blunders
by Hecce into make mistakes is human, to make mistakes dictated by faith is also human but foolish.
i am pretty sure that as jws we all have made decisions that later on we regretted, in some cases they have been minor and in others they had profound effect in our life; major items were like blood and education related.
i am going to post one decision that was a major disaster for the person involved and if you know of something similar please contribute.. in a spanish speaking country where "machismo" was the norm and it was common for a man to have several mistresses, there was a sister married to a wealthy man and they had four children.

Did you participate in a Drama?
by Hecce ini am bringing this up because even it was a lot of work, for the majority of the friends this was a rewarding experience.
camaraderie, joking, costumes, props and when the time came the celebrity status of being in the drama.. back in the 50s and 60s, conventions could be as long as 8 days and from about 1966 the dramas became an integral part of the program.
we had one per day and the brothers looked forward to their presentation.
