  "Circumcision is a sign to set you apart from the people of the nations"

  we know that the hebrew scriptures, or old testament states that the practice of circumcision (of males) was supposed to be yet another sign that set the jews apart from the "people of the nations".

  but apart from so many odd things, how dumb is this?.

  i mean, how did someone know if a male was circumcised or not??

  I was born with out eyelids. So when I got circumcised, the surgeon grafted the foreskin to my eyes to make eyelids. Now I have very good foresight.

  Two issues with mobile site

  hi simon, sorry i just thought of two more things:.

  on the mobile version (i use android) i can't load images anymore, and when i could (months ago) they would only load in a very low, sometimes unusable resolution.

  requesting a desktop version of the site in settings didn't work either, i had to go use a windows desktop.. also, all posts used to say how long ago they were written, but that often essential information no longer shows.. thanks..

  Paint your phone green and throw it in the long grass and hope no one finds it. Then buy a new one. My android phone has no problems. Data files might be corrupted. Last resort is to delete everything after saving important data then restore to factory settings.

  A "Three-fold cord"?

  we all know of the well used scripture that speaks of "a three-fold cord" in marriage.. sure, it is meant to indicate that any marriage that has "god" in it as the foundation of the couple's life will be successful.

  but how often have we noticed that what it really means for witnesses is that the society, or the gb has the right to be an unwelcome and nosey intruder in the lives of couples.

  every decision that family unit makes is influenced by the organisation.

  Nowhere in the scriptures does it mention anything about sex relation activities in marriage. So that 3 fold cord should be made into a noose for the gb to hang from a tree.

  i agree with garfield, but mayo comes in a close second.

  slathering my pasta with an inch of best foods real mayonnaise (hellman's, east of the rockies) is close to heaven for me.

  john 1:3 states in the nwt, "all things came into existence through him, and apart from him (the word, or jesus) not even one thing came into existence.".

  the wt states apart from him one thing came into existence, that is, jesus the first created being.. is there an explanation for this apparent contradiction?.

  In revelation it speaks about jesus being the alpha and omega. So the way I take that is that he was never the first born or created. And the jw bible was altered at john 1:1 to facilitate their erroneous teaching.

  Facial hair and Witnesses

  i never understood why the society was against beards or goatees but completely okay with mustaches.

  what's the difference?

  facial hair is facial hair, whether it's above your lip or around your cheeks or under your chin.

  1. Nothing wrong with a neatly kept full beard. Long nose hair is a bit much though especially when there are a few boogers in them.
