What’s The Strangest Belief of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by minimus inthere’s a lot.
i think one strange view is how only 144000 go to heaven.
since the number is mentioned in the symbolic book of revelation, you would expect that the number would be viewed as figurative, but jws say otherwise.

The ever-broadening, ever-deepening, ONGOING FLOOD TIDE of spiritual food
by credulity inmidway through the "congregation bible study" at this week's midweek meeting, a paragraph of the "god's kingdom rules" book stated as supposed evidence that "god's kingdom rules":.
"spiritual provisions flow to us like an ever-broadening and ever-deepening river.
our bible-based publications - as well as recordings and videos, our meetings and conventions, and the material published on our web site - together amount to an ongoing flood tide of spiritual sustenance... are you not thrilled to see the fulfillment of jehovah’s promises of abundance in your daily life?".

"Your word is a lamp to my foot". All of wt's doctrines are supposed to be originating from that lamp light, the bible. So wt doctrines are filters or lenses (they had a lighthouse once on their cover) interpreting, publishing that altered light. Sometimes wt discovers they installed a wrong filter; Superior Authorities 1929- ~ 1961.
Considering that the original light has such gems as talking snakes to naked, cloned ladies.... what do you expect of the shadow it casts now?

JW Lawyers and Heavyweights lying in court.
by freddo inin a recent canadian case i've seen (on line video in threads on here) the wt lawyer says that disfellowshipping isn't actual shunning but only a cutting off of spiritual association.
but what case is it and is there a transcript available on line?.
any other "good" examples from the point of view that it proves wt speak out of both sides of their mouths?.

Dinosaurs in Paradise
by The Real Edward Gentry ini'm so thankful for sites such as this.
i realise it's our imperfection but god's organization is not always open to 'outside the box' thinkers such as ourselves.
i've been researching dinosaurs and god's reason for not preserving these beasts beyond the flood of noah's day.

Dino's would have been prime candidates to survive the flood, if they butted up against the ark, they had experience in surviving already a previous mass extinction.
Massive flapping wing creatures are proof that evolution is not guided. such un -airworthy creatures could never have found a niche to survive for long, not flying anyway, perhaps short flight in a strong winds on a slope. to display their prowess ?
Just because the green 1961 wt bible had dinos in it (in bible times in Libya, does not make it so. so?

This might be all wrong. Jesus was led into the wilderness by the H. Spirit. Now people are confronted, inducted into the Spirit Directed Org. If Jesus can be [mis] led. how about jws? very tempting!

Personally I have my serious doubts about the Pterodactyl being resurrected as an airworthy conveyance. Those flapping wings are a flop. I think they were more of a kind of umbrella. Or an early prototype of the angels in revelation with their 6 wings.

“...in the name of our Lord Jesus” explanation please?
by Jules Saturn ini am looking for someone to please clear this up.
there are scriptures like in the 1 corinthians chapter 5 that refer to jesus as “our lord jesus”.
the lord is jehovah, why does that scripture in 1 corinthians refer to the lord as jesus?

Imagine if the Capitol were in any smaller city than the capital, Washington DC. It is likely (not liable), that all the foreign embassies would not fit there either. The historic character of Jerusalem would be totally altered, if every claimant bodily moved their embassies there, embarrassing.
ps. Security would be at least three times harder (not 3 times as much) to maintain than in more centrally located Tel Aviv.

Really? All black decor on the Assembly Hall stage.
by longgone ini've seen some depressing color schemes at the kingdom and assembly halls in my lifetime, but this one could be the worst.. a family member just sent me an email to tell me she had nice day at the assembly.
she attached a picture of the stage to show me a friend of hers who had a part.
other than the platform itself which had cream carpeting it was nothing but various shades of black!

watch for the LDC, or what [wt] ever, swoop down on that place and have it rebuild, upgraded to become a potentially saleable property. Iron railings? does it have a sloping floor? replace both, volunteers, donations wanted!
