  which world is this?_________________when the doctor pulled my screaming body out of mom all those 7 decades ago, i landed in a post-wwii world.it was--compared to today's world--an alien planet.. the world i live in today has nothing in common with the world in which i grew up.. there were no cell phones back then--there were black telephones with a dial-tone and an operator who placed your call.

  everywhere you found telephone booths!

  a call was a nickle.where did all those telephone booths go?i dunno.where did my whole world go?i dunno.. tv sets were huge boxes with tubes and small screens.

  I am nearly 2 decades older, having stored memory since then, and nobody is really interested, and why should they? Young people have to look into the future direction to shape it. A badly shaped future will kill us all. So, I, will leave a few fossils, where I made a mark, nothing remarkable likely to be done by me in the possible decade ahead of us. I am really glad to have offspring though, already past the 2nd overlap, into the laptop generation.

  A (hopefully original) thought for the day:

  What is essential to have an overlapping generation? the lap, without the action there, there is no generation. period. ( and not without period either).

  i keep hearing stories of rank and file publishers involved in gross wrongdoing but because they fear of the possibility of being shunned they only tell those who will not report them to elders .

  and they continue to go out on service and conduct bible studies and stay in good standing with cong even going to many social gatherings..

  ok, so i don't know if this is "old news", and if this has been seen, and or mentioned already.

  if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.

  however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

  If these lawyers had so many cases , they would not need to advertise to find them, to ferret them out. Gold is not a commonly occurring element bb. The existence of these ads might be an indication of the dearth, rather than the abundance of rape cases.

  witnesses of jesus and not jehovah.

  so i was a witness for years.

  preach about Jesus, if you must, but:

  leave time alone, it is the latter day forbidden fruit. the father has put time in his own jurisdiction. Even Einstein struggled with it, and on and on.

  Griffin Assembly Hall (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) now a Megachurch

  my mom, while pregnant with me, was one of thousands of jw volunteers to work on the construction of this once beautiful assembly hall in south florida circa 1984. it had a beautiful pond, waterfall, and even a resident alligator.

  many remember it as well for it's huge plaster murals on the walls showing scenes of paradises.. pics as it was before (sorry for the low quality, struggled to find good pics of the auditorium as it was, if you have any good ones, do share them):.

  Occupations that will disappear

  while growing up in the cult one thing that always bothered me was the way witnesses could forecast jobs/occupations that we're going to vanish in their new world.. for example, we would usually discuss at saturday night wt studies how doctors, nurses, funeral directors, and soldiers would go the way of the dodo.

  i always found discussions like that just so strange.. in hs, i mounted an unsuccessful effort to enter veterinary sciences, the big answer was always "why" it won't be needed after armageddon 😝😜.

  does anyone have their own story about professions that the witnesses believe will not be needed after the big a ?.

  i have seen some discussions related to the "kingdom" book, and the recent studies, but, i didn't see the one pertaining to the second chapter of the "kingdom" book.

  i may have missed it.
