At what age do people 'wake up'?
by Splash ini was thinking about this question recently after being at the meeting when new pioneers were announced for the 2013 service year.. we have a dozen or so pioneers in the congregation, and most are in their 20's.
some absolutely love the things they are taught and can't wait to spread the good news.. others in the congregation are going through the motions, tired of hearing the same old same old but have no way to change things now.
then there are a couple like me.

Ever think how much more easy the "truth" could be if we knew then what we know now??
by Inisc inimagine being at a convention, only now you have no guilt about not paying attention and you have a smartphone with internet!.
the possibilities are endless, goof off and go to starbucks or shopping or whatever and not worry about rocks raining on your head!.
i wish i didn't feel too guilty do any of that at the time!!.

Hypothetical scenario.
by Inisc ini was just thinking, that the wt firmly believes in demons and demon attacks.. so, what would the elders do if an unmarried sister became pregnant and told the elders that a demon attacked her and got her pregnant?.
i mean, mary got knocked up by some magic sperm so it's not too much of a stretch!.
(ok so i know this is beyond stupid but just throwing it out there).

"8 Ways To Give Us Your Cash" - the desperation in the latest Watchtower is tangible!
by cedars ini know gayle has already started a thread on the latest november 15th watchtower article that mentions the article on donations, but i thought a thread with a more specific title might be in order just to drive the point home for any lurkers.
i hope gayle doesn't mind!.
i've been banging the drum for a while now about what i view as the obvious signs that the watchtower is in a state of decline.. i have written the following blog articles on the subject.... http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/branch-closures-and-fire-sales-a-growing-trend-for-the-society.

This system is not all bad.
by Inisc inhi, everyone.. for many jws all they ever hear about is how wicked the world is and how it has gotten even worse lately.
the media does not help either.. and even for many ex jws who still have family who are still in, we have to listen to all that doom and gloom about the end of this system.. but, i would just like to recommend a website i found, (not sure if that violates jwn rules) .
its not religious at all, but is a news source of many heartwarming stories and news articles from all over the world that show just how wonderful life and and people can be.. i find it's a great antidote to remind us that the whole world is not wicked and in fact wickedness is still in the minority!.

Scriptural v legal divorce
by Inisc inhi everyone, this is sort of a long story but i'll try to keep it short.. mrs inisc was previously married, and before our wedding the elders were giving us a bit of a hard time as her divorce was nigh on complete but just wasn't officially finished, however what they were really concerned about was they weren't sure her ex husband had had "relations" as they like to say,as there wasn't enough satisfactory evidence in their opinion.
this of course made me almost catatonic with rage, especially since we hadn't been to a meeting in about 6 f'ing months and this was what they were worried about.
and i might add the wedding was entirely booked!.

One cute canadian sister
by thomyorke ini like her videos about self-injury and other mental and physical problems, that could happened to young people.... she say that she is an active jw and regularly visit the meetings and go to service.. http://www.youtube.com/user/idranktheseawater.
but... what can you say about her wearing and hair style?.
it's cool, but it's "non-spiritual" style, not for "true" jw, isn't it ?!

Is it me or is that ewatchman guy way too negative?
by Inisc inhas everyone heard of him, robert king?.
i occasionally have a look on his site, at times when im not sure what i believe.
i'm sliding towards atheism but i'm not completely sure either way.. the more reading i do of things of a scientific nature, the more i edge towards no god, but i like to analyse both sides of an idea.. anyway, whenever i read anything on kings website, it just seems he is a bit of doomsday cultist himself, i mean he has all these links to conspiracy sites, and all manner of negative scary articles about nuclear war and famine etc.
