by leaving_quietly insome of you here have a firm belief that 607 was not the fall of jerusalem, contrary to the wt beliefs that it was.
but, why is it important?

Rev 3:12 - New Jerusalem descending out of heaven?
by leaving_quietly inthere are scriptures talk about new jerusalem descending out of heaven.. rev 3:12 - the one that conquersi will make him a pillar in the temple of my god, and he will by no means go out [from it] anymore, and i will write upon him the name of my god and the name of the city of my god, the new jerusalem which descends out of heaven from my god, and that new name of mine.. rev 21:2 - i saw also the holy city, new jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from god and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.. most scholars feel all this is figurative, because, well, as barnes said:.
"the idea of a city literally descending from heaven, and being set upon the earth with such proportions - three hundred and seventy miles high revelation 21:16, made of gold, and with single pearls for gates, and single gems for the foundations - is absurd.".
eze 37:12 - and i will conclude with them a covenant of peace; an indefinitely lasting covenant is what there will come to be with them.

Beth Sarim and Matt 23:29,30
by leaving_quietly inwas reading in matthew today and came across this verse.. "woe to you, scribes and pharisees, hypocrites!
because you build the graves of the prophets and decorate the memorial tombs of the righteous ones, 30?and you say, if we were in the days of our forefathers, we would not be sharers with them in the blood of the prophets.
it struck me that the society did this very same thing with beth sarim.. .

30 pieces of silver
by leaving_quietly inzechariah 11:12,13 is viewed as a prophecy pertaining to judas, and fufilled at matt 26:14-16 and matt 27:9. judas, as we know, sold out jesus for 30 pieces of silver.
i noticed something when reading the verses in zechariah, though.
judas sold out and betrayed jesus, however zechariah is a prophecy being spoken by jehovah and pertaining to himself.. vs 12: "then i said to them:" who is the "i"?

New Light - FDS not appointed over Jesus' belonging just yet
by leaving_quietly infrom http://www.jw.org/en/news/events-activities/annual-meeting-report-2012/.
when does jesus appoint the slave over all his belongings?.
in those verses, jesus is referring to his coming as judge during the great tribulation.matthew 24:30; 25:31, 32.. jesus appointment of the slave over his belongings, then, must also be a future event.

After a couple of days pondering the "new light" FDS change . . .
by leaving_quietly inso, i've had a chance to ponder this "new light" of the change of definition of fds now for a couple of days.
the initial reaction was of astonishment, and just plain anger, and i can see that i'm not alone in that.
however (assuming matt 24:45-47 is prophetic, parable or not):.

Did they just show themselves to be the "evil slave?"
by leaving_quietly inmatt 24:48-50: "but if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, 'my master is delaying,' and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites.
there is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.".
notice, the slave only has to say it "in his heart.
