    Matt 24:48-50: " But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, 'My master is delaying,' and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards,the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be."

    Notice, the slave only has to say it "in his heart." Not in print. Not in public. Seems like a beat-down to me.

    I agree leaving, they have shown themselves to be the evil slave.

    However, I think they have shown it for a while. Between their views on "apostates", and "questioning the fds". I would consider their actions beating their fellow slaves. And I don't know when it happened, but the slide of Elders and MS turning from serving the congregation to being their overlords.

    And related to the topic of lies, here's YET another Bible verse where Jesus uses a phrase reflecting an ancient disproven misbelief that we literally experience thoughts in our hearts, not the brain. Jesus, like many uneducated men of his day, literally believed the organ of cognition IS the heart, not the brain!

    That errant belief is so rampant throughout the Bible, that it's easy to dismiss it. It's like the old saying that if you repeat a lie often enough, it eventually becomes accepted (if only as a figure of speech).

    I know they have become the evil slave in the way they handle the pedophile problem. Only the evil slave will be willing to endanger children in order for him to uphold a fallible (two witness) doctrine, sourced from the Mosaic Law. Last I heard, the Mosaic Law should not be applied to Christians.

    By implication, what future is there for those that remain in the Borg? They will be beaten and mistreated.

    2 Thess 2:1-17

    1Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,

    2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

    3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

    4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

    5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?

    6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.

    7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do sountil he is taken out of the way.

    8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;

    The JWs, might suspect something is wrong at Bethel, but very few will keave the KH over this new teaching- Now, if the GB told the brothers that the 10% tithe was being instated , we would see a mass exodus from the KH. Mess with the wallet of a JW and you will get their attention, pronto.
