I`m astounded by this number ,what`s your thoughts ? definite benefits for sure ,but what of the future ?
by smiddy3 inby 2020, 114 launches carried around 1,300 satellites to space, surpassing the 1,000 new satellites per year mark for the first time.
but no year in the past compares to 2021. as of sept. 16, roughly 1,400 new satellites have already begun circling the earth, and that will only increase as the year goes on.
just this month, spacex deployed another 51 starlink satellites into orbit.. right now, there are nearly 6,000 satellites circling our tiny planet.

I have come to the conclusion that a lot of JWs don't care if the end is near.
by mickbobcat ini was in the cult for years about 40. fourth gen born in cult member or for me ex cult member.
i have seen so many cult members who don't seem to really care if the end is near or not.
they are much more concerned with the idea that this is their social network and they need and or want it just the way it is.

I believe it. In 2005 I attended a One Day Assembly in which a young Elder who was formerly a Bethelite gave a talk. After walking off the stage he told his best friend the end was not coming any time soon.
Those generational Witnesses who have high paying jobs and martini parties are just going through the motions. I think deep down inside they don't want the end to come. They no life in the "New World" would be rough.

Did you at one time Believe-that you were not going to die. Does your still in JW spouse still believe?
by pistolpete inthis magazine says it all!.
and many of the older jws believed at one point in their life that they would make it through the great tribulation and into the 1000 year reign of christ without dying.
which is why so many jws stayed in so long.. is the main reason why jws ignore all the child abuse, the end of door to door service, and the closing of kingdom hall for almost two years----because they still believe they will not die?.

Jehovah's Witnesses is a religion based on Judeo-Christian beliefs. Such beliefs, which are the basis of Western culture, are egocentric. This belief propagates the idea that a person is separate from everyone and everything else. This belief in turn generates the Ego which creates anxiety over death as the Ego the belief "I MUST live!"
In addition, Jehovah's Witnesses are asked to "sacrifice" their life, that is to say "Don't do as you wish to do. Do as you are told to do." What are they told? Put all your time and energy into the religion. They are told there will be eternity to enjoy life after Armageddon.
For older Witnesses I believe the Sunk Cost Fallacy comes into play.

CLASSICAL music: value ZERO ?? (The Truth That Leads to Eternal LIfe)
by Terry inclassical music: value zero??.
performances are ephemeral.
you hear a live performance - and it's gone.. a recording may preserve that 'in a certain way' but it can't preserve it against other performances of the same thing.

Zero is a powerful number. One of my teachers recently shared with me that the Roman Empire outlawed the number zero and the concept of zero (nothing or emptiness).
Are their too many E-JW Youtubers and podcasts? Well, in a way. It seems they all do the same thing - expose the teachings of the Watchtower to be false. So stick with that and others are anti-theist.
I was recently pondering how to be more effective in the message that Ex-JWs publish. I am trying to put my concept into words, but the best I can come up with is -
- Stop bashing.
- Acknowledge that Jehovah' Witnesses religion, like all religions, can have some value.
- Back off the doctrine that is nothing more than belief.
- Address the organization policies that are the true issue at hand (disfellowshipping/no disagreeing with the Governing Body/child abuse policies and/or 2 witness rule, etc.).
It doesn't matter if there is a Jehovah or not. It doesn't matter how the universe came into being. What does matter is how people treat each other.
The best thing the Watchtower could to is change for the better, like any other Christian faith, is to stop focusing on the details and start focusing on the only proof humans can offer that following Christ is the truth - showing love and displaying the fruitage of the spirit. Everything else is not of importance unless you can do those 2 things.
Disfellowshipping is not a loving arrangement no matter how many times it is put in print by the Watchtower. No matter how many hours one puts into the public ministry or how many books or magazines you place, unless you are showing love, peace, joy, kindness, long-suffering, goodness, faith, mildness, self control you are no a follower of Christ. Individual action by humans could never make something God made "unclean". All that is required is to show love.
A lot of the Ex-JW Youtubers are a lot like the race pimps and race grifters of today. They share a lot of zingers and then stick their hand out for money. Buy my book. Click on the like button and subscribe below.

Watching the old Rockford files again since the 70s
by mickbobcat infunny but this show has all the current events we have today, nut bar hippie cults, gay issues, and many more and i get to see the old car classics drive around.
anyone ever notice how things do not change all that much?
the big issue is so many idiots mostly left over old far hippies and young idiots who do not know how to tie their own shoe laces are imo much bigger in size than in the 70s.

When it comes to "we must be ready to obey whether....it
by nowwhat? ini believe the the organization will tell it's members to sign over their mortgages and savings to the organization.
because of the impending fall of the financial institutions and the organization is the only place where it will be safe.
this has to be the only scenario possible because obviously they won't do a jonestown and where could 8 million flee to?

Are you thinking the Watchtower will say -
"It's not safe for Jehovah's loyal servants to meet in a place where the public is invited. We will be lovingly selling all Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls. Proceeds will go to support the World Wide Work through our studio. That way brothers and sisters can safely meet in the privacy of their own homes to receive Jehovah's precious spiritual food at the right time through his Governing Body."

There is no heavenly calling, it is a wishful thinking of JWs
by Abraham1 inthen jesus said to his disciples: “truly i say to you that it will be difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of the heavens.
again i say to you, it is easier for a camel to get through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god.” (mathew 19:23, 24, https://www.jw.org/en/library/bible/study-bible/books/matthew/19/) for jesus both “kingdom of heaven and kingdom of god” are interchangeable—they are one and the same.
when earth comes again under god’s rulership, earth becomes a “kingdom of heaven.” (mathew 5:3, 5) “those poor in spirit” are defined as those having no self-importance or egoless (mathew 16:24) and “the meek” too are egoless.

The "small flock" and the "great crowd" dogma is the first example of the "Overlapping Generations" concept created by the Watchtower. The Watchtower is and has always been adamant about 144,000 going to heaven. When their membership number began to swell well over that number and 1914 came and went the Watchtower panicked. They had to pull a rabbit out of their hat.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses subtly directing the brothers to have homes with attics?
by was a new boy init seems if you have an attic, you'll be safest there..

I thought such actions as hiding your faith showed a lack of trust in Jehovah. Daniel prayed in public even though he knew he would be arrested and executed. Daniel was thrown into the lions den and an angel protected him for his faith. Bunkers and attic hiding are a bit of a Freudian slip for "This is a cult and nothing more."
