  further this logo has become the main identification of a kingdom hall.. can someone give bible reasoning behind this?

  That's my favorite name for them. They are and always have been a business. Their own name. They need to own it.

  I would refuse to call them Jehovah's Witnesses. They are Publishers of the Watchtower Corporation.

  The Worst doctrine of JWs- Ressurection and Paradise

  besides the facts that one needs to take numerous verses from the ot and nt and smash them together to make this theology (which works out to a modern day zorastriaism) the whole concept is realy horrific.. first it teachs that your life is worthless and should be exploited until the next one in paradise/or heaven.

  second it teachs that you dead loved ones are still around either in heaven or jeblooper's memory.

  so don't greive.

  The implied reality of the paradise Earth myth would shake a sane person to the core. Armageddon happens. Billions of humans are all dead all at once. All of human society's infrastructure ends instantaneously.

  Imagine AMC's The Walking Dead television series minus the zombies. No electricity. No heating or air conditioning. No clean, running water. Millions of "survivors" who have no clue on how to grow food, cook food, make clothes, tend non-fatal wounds or injuries, etc.

  I guess beards will be back in style because no one knows how to smith razors. As will long hair, unshaven legs and hairy armpits. A decade into "Paradise" and everyone will look like a castaway survivor on a desert island. I am not sure what would be worse - the smell of all the dead, rotting bodies or the body odor and stale breath of all the survivors burying them.

  After a hard 16 hour day's work of burying dead people and disposing of any sign of the prior world, there's nothing like a bowl of hot, bland boiled carrots and potatoes. Maybe you can watch the crows pick the bones of your dead neighbors for the night's entertainment. I'm pretty sure the football match won't be televised.

  Then a thousand years pass. The Earth has been restored to the way it was intended. Only the faithful are left on Earth. Now what?

  "Well, we don't know, but I am sure it will be wonderful!" claims the Watchtower.

  Sorry, but I'm not buying it. Forever is a long time.

  Like HowTheBibleWasCreated, I too have turned to eastern philosophy. It actually makes sense and jives with science.

  Both the Hebrew and Greek words for "sin" are archery terms that mean "to miss the mark." In Hebrew it literally meant "to miss the golden center of the target." Cravings and desires cause one to take their eye off the target, as it were, and miss.

  Yes, the creation account, Adam, Eve, and the original sin are allegoric stories used to explain things by the Israelites. Being concerned with whether or not it happened is missing the point. That is like seeing some one use their finger to point to a beautiful full moon on a dark night and focus on the person's finger.

  i belong to a group (best description that i can think of) that specialises in sharing academic papers.

  ok, sometimes that provides me with all kinds of interesting material pertinent to my research interests.

  but, sometimes, (and since i have not read all of it, i'm assuming its fair dinkum, genuine research) something turns up (not among my usual research interests) that blows my simple brain.. anyway, after a brief examination, my conclusion is this: i think charlie russell would have gone gaga over this research.. the author has named his paper, .

  I believe in climate change and I support non-fossil fuel energy sources that actually work. This is actually an insane idea for California. California imports more electricity than any other state in the union. There are people unable to flee the wildfires because of the rolling blackouts and because the own only an electric vehicle.

  Add to this that there are not enough child laborers and cobalt mines in Africa to manufacture the batteries for all the electric cars that would be needed to replace the fossil fuel vehicles in California.

  I always remember the Watchtower teaching that all governments would turn on all religions. Witnesses theorized it would be a seizure of all property and wealth. My personal thoughts when I was a Witness was that it would include all Watchtower assets, as technically the Watchtower teaches Witnesses are separate from the corporation. It was only after this the governments would see Witnesses still chugging along that they would finally turn on the Witnesses.

  There are so many religions, many that have no financial assets, that I don't see how this would be possible. I cannot see every religion, but Jehovah's Witnesses, being eradicated. This could only happen if 8 billion people minus the Witnesses decided to give up religion entirely.

  I often find when persons refer to theist or creationist ideology of the origins of the universe it is actually inferring Judeo-Christian beliefs. Look at the Hindus. They believe the universe always existed and will always exist. That after a time the universe is sort of reset.

  The interesting thing about that is it sort of follows the idea of the Big Bounce Theory. The Big Bang was actually just the last reset.
