This is like a Monty Python skit.
Person 1: "You cannot say that! That's Islamophobic!"
Person 2:"Well, I didn't expect the Thought Police!"
Three uniformed officers burst into the room.
Thought Police: "No one expects the Thought Police!"
the muslim council of britain and uk jewish organisations want the uk government to enshrine into law their perceptions of what kind of speech constitutes islamophobia or anti-semitism/hate crime.
should british christians follow suit?
in the movies & on tv we constantly hear actors shout out, "jesus christ.

1. whether you believe in the bible or not are you free to read /allowed to read the bible, the word of god?.
2. whether you want to or not, are you free to read/ allowed to read the shepherds book, the word of men?.
Imagine if you will a member of a religion wrote a letter to a locale specific group of fellow religious members. A group the size of a congregation. Later, all members of said religion get a hold of that letter an incorporate it as being God's own word.
Now we know how the Apostle Paul misogyny was incorporated into Christianity - a religion based on Paul's letters to congregation made up of followers of the teachings of Jesus. Jesus, who held no such teaching or belief as Paul.
The Watchtower's protectiveness of the Shepherding book borders on secret society behavior. Take for instance the direction that elders may only take the book to a male Jehovah's Witness bookbinder and that any work done on the book must be done under the direct supervision of the elder.
Why all the secrecy? Civil and possible criminal liability. Watchtower claims that all the content in the book may be found in their other publications. This is partially true. The difference is that the Shepherding book is not ambiguous as the rest of the a Watchtower's publications are. That is intentional so they don't paint themselves into a corner.
The Shepherding book is different. It is specific about the actual beliefs and practices condoned by the Watchtower. Watchtower policy on handling child abuse cases inside the congregation are a clear example of this. Other Watchtower publications will condemn child abuse and make statements like "Child abusers should be handed over to the authorities and not protected by the congregation." Whereas the Watchtower's actual written, but hidden policy, is to report the case to headquarters and wait for instructions.
i think it was called "a mother's thoughts.
" it was a rather dreadful poem written from the viewpoint of a mom a few weeks after armageddon, reminiscing about her child that didn't survive.
in one part, the rebellious kid says, "i can take care of myself in snow, sleet or rain.
The Watchtower is a love removal machine.
You cannot show love by intentionally causing suffering. Love is never conditional. Love accepts a person as a whole, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
... or rather listen to the advice on their jw news website:.
show love to others.
while we all know the importance of attending christian meetings and participating in the public ministry, if you are sick, it is best to stay home to avoid infecting others.
I always marveled at how Jehovah's Witnesses put so much importance on attending the Memorial of Christ's Death. They treat it like it is the most Holy of Holy Holidays. Then, they attend and participate in this ritual which mocks the Eucharist by refusing to drink the wine and eat the bread.
i was talking with my sister and the subject of the wt using rahab as an exemplary example of theocratic warfare which is of course, lying.
when the wt uses her, they fail to highlight the fact that she was a temple prostitute and an unbeliever when she "saved" the spies.. i said you know, the wt doesn't use the most famous liar as an example.
that would be peter of course.
Peter lied and was forgiven because he was repentant. When Jesus was asked if he was a king, he could have lied and spared himself. Instead, he told the truth and was executed for treason.
Jesus told the truth even though it cost him his life.
Lesson: Even in the face of death, always be honest.
Theocratic Warfare is what the Romans would have called "Taurus Feces".
the watchtower has posted a news item on the coronavirus on their website and officially endorces the advice of who, the world health organization which is described by wikipedia as -.
the world health organization (who) is a specialised agency of the united nations that is concerned with world public health.
it was established on 7 april 1948, and is headquartered in geneva, switzerland.
1. The United Nations is the "Wild Beast of Revelation" or
2. The united Nations is the "superior authorities" of Romans 13:1 which "stand placed in their relative positions" by Jehovah.
Sorry, Watchtower, but I am confused. I am asking if it is #1 or #2 and the Watchtower is answering "Yes."
gun's 'n' roses did a decent cover of it!.

Prost!
the first two study articles of the latest wt raise the usual sense of urgency with more of the same theological quackery russell would be proud of.. first up, something we've always known, the embarrassing admission that jws think they are the center of the universe:.
even though god’s servants make up only a small portion of the world’s population, they are often at the center of major world events.
because satan and his entire system have one prime objective—conquering those who serve jehovah .
The only statement from the Watchtower in print that is true, factual, and believable is -
"We are not inspired or infallible."
the "financial" new system of things!.
yes, in the new system it will be "business as usual" with the watchtower society's financial arrangement.
all those beautiful homes are to be built to make paradise complete.. .
Waton:
You reminded me of an excellent point. When I was still a Witness I loved to dash Paradise dreams of my fellow Witnesses. They would say something like,"I can't wait until we are living in the New World. I am going to build a beautiful house in Hawaii and eat pineapples all day long."
I would reply, "That's not what you will be doing. You will be sent wherever you are told to go. You will work all day long restoring the Earth and preaching to resurrected ones. You will probably end up in the North Pole with no running water, electricity, or plumbing for the first 1,000 years." You should have seen the jaws drop.
under close investigation of ancient middle eastern civilizations and their religoius beliefs and practices, there appears to be a connecting commonality derived from astronomical mythological beliefs.
.
as shown through the documentary zeitgeist it would appear that these ancient civilizations plagiarized mythological beliefs from an original source to use for their own individual means and purpose, the ancient egyptian mythological practices being the originating source.. the documentary zeitgeist brings forth some interesting thoughts.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9ywr5tcjae.
It's pretty mind blowing. It all makes sense. However, I have to ask the question - why? Why create a religion based on Judaism that is nothing more than an allegory of Egyptian astrology.
It's also ironic. A Canaanite tribe is held captive by the Egyptians, released only to be captured by the Persians, only to be released and captured by the Romans. Every time this tribe is recaptured they reinvent their religion, which is all based on their original capture's (Egyptians) religion.
