My farther did these news/documentary projects for the WTBS. He once did a study on the number of mentally ill people who were Witnesses. The number was rather high. He was told to bury his project.

Looking back I now understand the statement "There's no such thing as a coincidence."
I recall that in the mid-1990s we were all expecting the Great Tribulation to start at any moment. Every tragedy in the world was linked to the End of Days. Just about the time the clock was going to hit 00:00 the WBTS pulls a rabbit out of its hat - Overlapping Generations. The Governing Body, the referees of our life, put time back on the clock and set the clock to ??:??PM.
I remember how people left the organization over this and couldn't comprehend it at that time. Mostly because I was a kid just out of high school. No it all makes sense and I can see the man behind the curtain.

Name 3 religions that were accused of being a cult that were not.
Name just 1 religion that was accused of being a cult and it turned out it was not.
People don't through around the accusation that a religion is a cult loosely or haphazardly.

The Organizations obsession with image.
by BourneIdentity inas we all know, the highest priority or concern in the religion isn’t about adhering to god’s word or obeying jehovah and jesus, but rather the image of the organization and all its members.
just yesterday there was a talk where the brother stated how important it is to keep our homes clean, yards free of junk piling up and cars clean, because it could possibly detract from the message.
besides those things he mentioned, they want all males to never grow a beard or goatee.

BourneIdentity:
You've hit the nail on the head. Especially on the obesity/gluttony point. The Bible defines gluttony as "over eating". Obesity easy easily identified. If you over eat you will be overweight. Gluttony is a sin and specifically mentioned in the Bible. Do you know what isn't specially mentioned? Smoking. Yet your will be disfellowshipped as a Witness if you do the latter and not if you are the former.

Scanning and Sending Medical Records Through Emails--Circuit Overseer Letter!
by Atlantis inatlantis, do you have the circuit overseer's letter, where they say they scan and send your medical records through emails?
isn't that against the law?.
you would need to speak with those on the board with legal knowledge on that subject, because i am not qualified in such legal matters.

It is against the law (HIPAA) for a medical provider to send medical records electronically. If you're not a medical provider, HIPAA does not apply.

Money Laundering
by Solzhenitsyn inwell friends how about another update straight from the mole in the treasurers office?
fact: tens of thousands of bethelites have taken a vow of poverty and live/work in branches all over the world.
fact: they all get a stipend based on local need, "cost of living", tenure, ect.

Money Laundering is when a person or persons takes income from unlawful activity and conceals it's source through legitimate financial institutions.
I think Tax Evasion is what you may be speaking of.

Does It Bother You That Christian Churches and Christian People Are Being Persecuted and Killed?
by minimus ineven if your fed up with “religion” , i don’t want to see christians persecuted.
it’s happening in many parts of the world and it’s so wrong.

Violent persecution of anyone because of their belief system in wrong. The fact that certain groups cannot even bring themselves to say the word "Christians" is evidence of just how messed up things are.

Watchtower hires off-duty law enforcement
by Diogenesister inan indignant law enforcement officer wrote kim & mikey to let them know watchtower had placed an advertisement on a facebook page dedicated to law enforcement staff only, looking to hire a fully uniformed and armed officer at $35 per hour.
the commission was for the memorial in a specified texan venue.. the officer was particularly miffed at the hypocrisy considering the terrible way law enforcement was portrayed in the 2018 convention video, where the jws had been herded into a field to be slaughtered by a large group of officers.
not to mention the fact they are only too willing to call police for their own protection, yet won’t do so when it comes to protecting children from potential or actual abuse.. https://youtu.be/-rpcsztnvyo.

I am a Texas police officer. It is very common for churches to hire off-duty officers to direct traffic for their services. $45 to $75 dollars an hour is the average rate in my area, but I live in one of the richest counties in the state.
I do agree that this is highly hypocritical. I was a born in Witness. At the age of 19 I knew I wanted to be a police officer, but I also knew the Watchtower stance on being armed. It's why I ended up spending 6 years working as a county correctional officer rather than going right into a sworn position.
