I was one who was conscripted for the Vietnam war. (Yes Australia was involved.) I was told by the elders to tell the court in applying for conscientious objection was MY idea alone and that alternative service was a non no.

So prison was going to be it.

There was no mention of the wts paying legal costs and from memory the elders never came near my suffering mum and dad. Dad had been to the WW2 and Mum was at home waiting the dreaded telegram and here they were now about to go through it all again thanks to the crawl up Americas arse Liberal party government.

Australian and other world governments please note.

The GB have said that jw may be asked to do things distant from a human understanding and could suggest.. (!) every one sign over their own homes or 'super funds to the WT (Jehovah will look after you) and many will do so. The WT is about getting every dollar out of its people it can. It faces an aging membership and they have in the main no super (retirement saving) and can not donate any more than they have.The WT is capable of anything.

Anyone remember the scene where they wanted kids to start a money box so they could donate their ice cream money to the WT?

This will mean when that fountain has dried up a very large body of people then going to the various government depts or charities to house them.

Governments like Australia's.. wake up!

people here who have major disabilities now cant get a disability pension due to impossible to meet criteria and the government should be looking very hard at the WT and its $$ exporting business.

remove the WT charity exemption of the WT
stop the exporting of $ to the US head office
lean on them to sign on to the National Redress Scheme.

just got a phone call this morning from a very upset anointed brother.

he said he didn't believe me when i told him about the pedo problem and selling off of halls.

he said he was disgusted with the watchtower and had to go to a special meeting last night.

This ongoing sell off tells me evermore that the gb are not running the show at all its being run by some very nasty lawyer/accountant types who have attached themselves like limpets to the wt operation because of the mountain of cash and cashcows therein.

Once the $$ pile gets below a certain level they will cut and run leaving whatever remains of the congs to their fate whatever that may be; indeed this is perhaps what is happening with all these congs that are being sold up?

Crying at the Kingdom Hall these past 2 weeks

i didn't go to the first sunday(7/14/19) meeting discussing "child abuse".

but i did ask a sister who i work with: how did it go at the watchtower study yesterday?

she said: "i cried throughout the meeting".

JJ all the more reason for the US to hold a full commission of inquiry into the matter as we held here in Australia.

and the tears.. I can only wonder at my uber wife's response to this article as she must have considered the abuse her/our own suffered a the hands of that 'perfect' brother.

i see so many old and young dubbers on fb who are wishing each other a happy bday.

when i was in the cult it was a huge no no.

I do.!

In recent years I have sent small gifts to grand-kids as I realize how precious kids are. My own now adults get a voucher or a cheeky sms or email. Yes dear friends it did feel strange at first but it is a delight to do this as it is to get a cheeky birthday greeting as well. But I always was oh so so selfish....

i happen to run into a couple of elders and one of their bible studies was with them.

after we said our formal greetings to each other we caught up on each other’s history.

somehow the conversation took a turn into politics.

My own mother would rather see my death

apparently, according to my mother, the worst thing that could happen to me is not dying in a car crash or getting cancer but instead would be me leaving jehovah and his organization.

i of course realize this is the position of jws but to hear my own mother verbalize it on a gentle walk in the woods was painful to say the least.

needless to say, i cannot tell her i am mentally out..

please dear friends, so often 'mothers' come up saying such things and I am reminded that when they have an age/ health related collapse it is the non jw offspring who rally to the cause of running them around, taking them to doctors or shopping.

If in the future these parents come begging for money suggest they should speak to their elders,or write to the society for their needs and leave it there.

Review: 2019 Regional Convention

so here's some random highlights from the convention this year:.

in a couple of videos, they promote a very negative attitude about bettering yourself and taking career opportunities.

for instance, in one video a boy is either getting a college offer or at a job fair, i can't remember exactly, but first he imagines getting better off financially, and then he turns around and imagines losing his money and losing his nice car.

As uneducated people they get hung up on a word and then if you notice you will hear it being used by all about you. While I was in I noticed.. hyperbole.. got a workout.

RTN. Add in the voyeuristic way some elders look at any testimony about sex.

Britains BBC Radio 4 reported a doco on the wt where one sister had been raped. In questioning her the elders asked ..'how far apart were you legs when this happened'. This is voyeurism of a most obscene order.

I was sick left with a growling nausea at hearing this and with difficulty phoned the CARC while in session with the wt executive and revealed this with the link to the counsellors there.

General Eisenhower made German civilians walk through a death camp so they could not deny it had happened. I hope that there will be a time when jw who have piously turned their faces away will be made to gaze upon the horrors they have been wilfully part of.
