Living Alone - Love it or Loathe it?
by Crumpet inwell i have been living alone now for a week for the first time in about 6 years and apart from one or two minor episodes i am really really enjoying the freedom of it.
i feel like a weight has been lifted.
i feel free again - a tiny bit lonely at night - but mostly i think i've recaptured that long lost spring in my step.

Doom and despair.
by Norm inwarning!
to all of you, who live in the awful illusionary realities of the watchtower world, where everything has gotten so much worse since 1914, will hate the following information so i recommend all faithful jehovah's witnesses not to read any further as this could seriously harm your ability to maintain the doom and gloom mindset so carefully projected into your minds by the watchtower literature and at the meetings.
statements like this:.

The Global Flood
by coldfish ini've just read an intersting article on the flood to do with dates and whether is was truly global or a regional flood.. http://www.commentarypress.com/essay-flood.html.
my father used to be an elder for many years and the flood was one of the things that made him walk away not just from the jw but also belief in the bible.
he was hung up on issues like the flood taking place about 3500 bc and how that fit in with the pyramids.. i don't know much about egyptian history or the ages of the big pyramids, but his reasoning was if the flood wiped out every human on earth except noah etc then at 3500 bc there were only 8 people on earth.

let us take a look at all the claims made in that article and examine them in the light of reality.

Prohibition, a Satanic plot
by Norm inda judge j. f. rutherford had some rather bizarre ideas regarding many things, it is however quite rare to come across anything quite so strange as his opinion of the prohibition in the us in the twenties.
rutherford loved his booze and didnt take kindly to the prohibition.
in an article with the title prohibition published in the november 1, 1924 issue of the watchtower he really let it rip and showed his power of reason in full flight.

"What Is Truth?"
by LoneWolf ina few of us have been conversing by email on this subject and i thought id throw it out for all to consider, as it affects all of us.. im interested in this subject as it is the question pontius pilate asked jesus, what is truth?
(john 18:37, 38) also, it seems especially apropos for our day as if ever there was a time that truth was needed, it is now.. for me, the following concepts help tremendously, as they are ways to classify and organize truth itself and helps us to realize when we are getting complacent in our thinking.
it also helps emphasize just how little we know, streamlines our avenues of inquiry, and makes the very process of learning exciting.

Validity of 607 BCE date
by stevieb1 inhas anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.
i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.
if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?
