if i knew then what i know now, i might never have disassociated myself.
i realize all i can do is speculate on what could have been.
however, when i consider the number of people i might have been able to help by dropping little thought-provoking seeds, i really regret having jumped to the decision to disassociate so quickly.. ive read the accounts of several people on this forum telling of how stressful it is to be in the position that i just described above.
We all have regrets. Regrets we got involved, we got family involved, we stayed, we left. That the Bills didn't make the playoffs again. Don't let it eat at you. Move on. As I always say

(On another note; should the Bills make the playoffs in 2014 I'm taking it as a sure sign that Armageddon is near.)
after waking up and wanting to get out of this nightmare, the word apostate is really bothering me.
if i quitely become inactive, fade away will i just be looked at as "always weak".
i want to scream out how big a fool i was.. and now telling my poor young daughter how wrong i was to bring her up as a jw.

i've asked people at the hall and they say jws aren't supposed to have guns.
i asked them why, and they all say just because we're not supposed to.
I grew up in upstate NY congregations. Many of us had guns growing up. No one made an issue of it.

Believe in God. Not everything taught was wrong. Run it up against just plain common sense. I personally believe the question of whom to go to should have been rather when to go. If that is indeed the case, I like the Apostle Paul's observation of a resurrection of the righteous & unrighteous. That counts about everyone in. many friends i've spoken with are becoming discouraged.
because of this it's becoming tempting to privately share my views with friends, but i know this is still too dangerous.
most witnesses in my circle are intelligent free thinkers.
Most of the older generation still in are "institutionalized". They can't conceive of life on the outside. I believe that their children will be less gullible and as each sucessive generation comes along, less will stay. This, hopefully will dwindle this cult down to just the brain dead in the future.

So SFPW the message justs adjusts? That means you have to wholeheartedly believe the end is near. As you are well aware Jehovah is a god of reason. Is it reasonable to believe a century old warning is to be taken seriously? Certainly Jehovah could not hold anyone alive today responsible for not taking you seriously. By the way, if you're having a problem adjusting to the meaning of a generation, check in with the author of the prophesy. Certainly Jesus Christ would not give an ambiguous meaning to such a critical piece of information would he? After all, their very lives would depend on their decerning the meaning of, right? Let's see; Jesus gave his warning in 33 CE. Jerusalem fell 37 years later, well within anyone's understanding of a "generation"........except, of course, by the men you follow as the true religion.
